@CoastalGX sorry I'm in mass,or I'd be in line for service....it's very hard to find a good service tech that's honest and personable! You are blessed to have him for a friend 🙏
In my 4th Gen Runner, after every PINS trip, I pulled my skids and soaked the bolts in Concrete Etch, Metal Prep and Rust Inhibitor from home depot. Works great, and ensures you get to most of the places when cleaning. Always surprised how many sea shells were always in the skids.
Your Sandy is in excellent condition considering the amount of times you've have drove on the beach. Especially the high tide incident. From what I can tell your frame is solid.
Hi Robert did you do some/extensive research before you got you shields, are this the best product in regards to the cat protection? I'm looking my self for something similar but I don't see many options for cat shields I have a 2018 GX460 with KDSS.
Hello Kike. It was a no brainer to go with RCI since they threw in the cat guards for free with the purchase of the tranny skid. So I paid full price for the engine and tranny skid and got the cat guards at zero charge. They cover them nicely and i feel it’s a good deterrent from theft.
@@CoastalGX ok one last question can I keep the OEM engine shield or the RCI will make a difference in regards to the safety of the cats? No Mods on my GX also mine I think it has the KDSS if this make a difference on the RCI engine plate.?
@@kikeperdomo1735 ask all you want, Kike. I suggest you get the engine and tranny skids like me. One fits into the other. Watch how DJ assembled the cat guards.

I always recommend putting dab of engine oil or other lubricant on thread of bolts whenever you install parts. Youll be thanking yourself after few years if youll ever come back to unscrewing them to change something.
I think the design is a great deterrent. These bastards are opportunists so maybe they’ll move on if they see these. Nothing is impossible to crack, but I’m hoping they’ll just be dissuaded and move to an easier target.

Hi Robert we have RCI full skids too for over a year now and have been very happy with them... you'll love them. Thank you for sharing with us ❤️
I only got those three items for now. Plan to invest in the rest later on. 🎥👍🏽
Man I just got a 2017 4Runner and need the same thing done, I wish this guys shop was in Maryland! Great work!
D&D did the alignment on my Land Cruiser... great job
They do a great job. Glad you’re getting your LC squared away.

A torch or a induction heater is your best friend for rust, all we use in WI.
Funny you mention that, we ended up buying induction heaters!! Lol

Yes!!! Sea shells and so much sand in the box frame. This was an eye opener and I’m glad we addressed the issue while we still had time. 😅
Phew!! Glad you all were able to get it done!
Yes!! Treated her on time.
Robert, glad you got it early that it was not torn all up.

Here in Québec, Canada our cars corrode by the salt on the road in winter for melt the ice …, you it’s the sea salt in the sand !
Yes sir!! Saltwater is so corrosive. Saludos to Quebec mon ami!

I hope the copyright folk don’t notice 😅
Robert is there any provision for oil and filter change or do you need to remove the entire engine plate for oil changes?
There are access ports in the plates. If you off-road often, you may want to add anti seize to the bolts to prevent issues in the future.
22:05 Bruh, that soundtrack threw me! 😂 Is that some New Jack City Electronica- music that you put together?

Does D&D do the spraying of the film?
Probably so. Give them a call on Monday.
I have heard that where the AC drain hose touches the frame it will rust there. Have you noticed that as well?
No issues from AC drain, only from saltwater and moist sand. Those bolts were pitted!! Dangerous.
I always recommend putting dab of engine oil or other lubricant on thread of bolts whenever you install parts. Youll be thanking yourself after few years if youll ever come back to unscrewing them to change something.
