HOW TO Travel EGYPT

  • To make things easier, let's divide the country into three main areas: Cairo, the South, and Red Sea/Sinai Peninsula. If you're flying internationally, there are plenty of flights from all over the world. Once you arrive in Cairo, you will need to pay a $25 USD visa fee upon arrival. Alternatively, if you're staying only in the Sinai Peninsula and not going to mainland Egypt, most nationalities don't need to pay a visa fee because there is a Sinai-only permit that is free.
Let's focus on Cairo, where we will start our trip. On the first day, once you arrive, you can find plenty of transfers at the airport or get an Uber for around $15-$25 USD, depending on your location. The hotels in the Giza pyramids area are cheaper and offer great views of the pyramids, but it's not an exciting area to go out at night. Instead, I suggest you book a hotel in Cairo, where there are many international brands and cheap hostels. You can find reviews in our channel.
On your first day, I suggest you take a stroll around the city to get a feel for the area. Don't take too much money with you as it's easy to get ripped off by not knowing the prices and the area. You will have many opportunities to spend your money during your holiday, so don't worry.
On day one, wake up early, have breakfast, and head to the pyramids. However, keep in mind that the area around the pyramids can be full of hustlers and scams. Check out our guide on how to visit the pyramids on our channel before you go. After you've finished with the pyramids, you can head to Saqqara, which is only 30 minutes away by car, or stay at the pyramids and have lunch at Khufu, which serves modern reinterpretations of classic Egyptian cuisine and offers incredible views of the pyramids.
After lunch, head to central Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses an impressive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. It's worth a visit even if you only see the Tut mask.
In the evening, it's time to visit Khan el Khalili if you're into markets. However, be prepared to bargain as prices here are not fixed. Once you get the hang of it, haggling can be a fun experience and can help you score some great deals. Additionally, there are beautiful medieval mosques located in Khan el Khalili that many people don't know about.
For dinner, if you're looking for a bougie atmosphere, check out Bullona on the Nile. If you're looking for something traditional and cheap, try Sobhy Kaber, which serves traditional Middle Eastern food.
If you plan on spending two days in Cairo, there are plenty of attractions to explore, like the Citadel, the Hanging Church, and the Museum.
After Cairo, you have two options: head south to explore the temples and historical sites, or go to Sinai for some beach fun. In this video, we'll explore both options, starting with the south.
The southern region is famous for its ancient temples and historical sites. While many people suggest starting with Luxor and then heading to Aswan, I prefer going to Aswan first and then heading to Luxor. The reason for this is that there are direct flights from Luxor to the Red Sea, which is not an option from Aswan.
Aswan is often overlooked, but it shouldn't be! One of my favorite experiences in Egypt was riding a felucca on the Nile and taking in the mesmerizing landscapes of the south, where the contrast of rock and river created unforgettable images. I highly recommend trying a felucca ride for yourself.
From Aswan, you can take an overnight bus to the stunning Abu Simbel The temples are a marvel of ancient Egyptian architecture and engineering, with towering statues and intricate carvings.
In Aswan, you'll also find one of my favorite temples in all of Egypt - the Philae Temple.
surrounded by the Nile and rocky desert far away from the city, this temple really transports you back 3000 years to ancient Egypt. It's truly a magical experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Egypt.
The Philae Temple is a popular destination for those who purchase a cruise package from Aswan to Luxor. Although the journey by road can be long and hot, cruising down the Nile is an incredible experience that allows you to explore some of Egypt's most amazing sites, such as the Temple of Edfu and Kom Ombo.
If you're short on time and can't do the full 4-night cruise, you can always take a one-hour flight to Luxor instead. This will give you more time to explore Luxor's incredible sites the Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, and the Luxor Temple.
With just a one-hour plane ride from Luxor, you can find yourself in this breathtakingly beautiful city of Sharm el Sheikh. \

Just came back from sharm Rixos premium seagate... Great venue. But holiday was ruined by staff and locals treating us as second class . Seems to be Russians are given the first class experience. Such a shame as I really followed all the go to spots recommended by this channel ie old market, vip boat trip etc.
I really hope the attitude of sharm changes and treats everyone equally. Didn't make sense as the British and Arabs are the big spenders and the Russians just stay in the resorts and demolish anything that's free!
Maybe return after expo 2027 but not before such a shame as I thought I was staying in THE top hotel in sharm but customer treatment was budget class.
