This was the home of my great aunt. She was a wonderful amazing lady. My father used to run through the halls of the Hayes Estate as a boy and get lost all the time. I wish they never sold it to the public.

I remember finding this place by accident one day and walking around the inside. It's really neat.

I live down the street and never touched foot at the mansion. Everyone goes their for wedding, prom, quinzcenieras, and other festivities to take pictures because it so beautiful. There used to be a theme park on the other side were the park is at way back then

The Hayes Brothers purchased the Sierra Buttes Mining Company from the London investment group. Most of the gold had been extracted by this point, so the Hayes’s used Cyanide to try to extract more gold, poisoning the environment.
Whenever I went to San Jose, this was my most favorable favorite place, this video has done a terrible terrible job, they did not show the grounds, they did not show to pools that did not show the restaurant, as bad as California is right now, this hotel is a bliss
Ash I can see why it was one of your favorite places, it is beautiful. I am sorry you feel our video did not do it justice. We did show the pool and the grounds briefly in the beginning but the restaurant was closed when I filmed. We enjoyed all of the history of the mansion that Edward shared with us and we wanted to share it with our viewers.
