Calm Caravan Holiday with Dogs. And Trains :) Part 1 - Tamworth & Statfold

APRIL 2024. In this video we start with my last day at work as an International Train Manager with Eurostar taking my lunch break in the busy and beautiful city of Paris.
We then step things down a gear by hitching up my caravan to my Kia EV6 and heading off on holiday. First stop is at Clacket Lane Services on the M25 to charge the car and have a cup of tea. We then continue on to Kingsbury Water Park Camping and Caravanning Site near Tamworth to settle in for the night.
The next day we start slowly and enjoy the nature around Kingsbury Water Park before a quick grocery shop at Lidl. On we continue to Statfold Barn Railway at Statfold Country Park, where the annual Model Railway Exhibition is being hosted.
The next morning, we hitch up and head off to our next destination, stopping off first of all at Kimberley Caravans in Nottingham to buy a gas hose and exercise the dogs in the fields opposite. On we continue to Leeds Skelton Lake Services to charge the car and brew up a much-needed cuppa.

I'm not sure but I thought I saw a smile on Dougal's face when he was running behind Ted. Can this be true? Thank you for the video Andrew. You make it all look so calm and relaxed. The opposite of when I'm travelling!

Brilliant to see you back again, we now have our EV6 and it tows the 2013 Eldis Avante 462 fine, well balanced and quiet, managed to get 128 miles on last trip without a charge so thank you for giving us the confidence to go electric.

Lovely to see you out and about in the spring sunshine - I often used to walk with friends ( quite a few years ago now!) from Kingsbury church through to where you camped and, and I used to drive past statfold on my way home from Tamworth. Not used to seeing local places on you tube 🤗

I virtually moved back and looked after my mum ( with carers ) 80 % of the time for six years and she used to say life was stopping for a moment and seeing and appreciating the flowers and the birds and the small things with loved ones as much as the big things. She loved me showing her you tube travel videos and went for the first time to the Scottish islands with you :).
So glad you’re back have got a few videos to catch up with.Were not campers but use to be part of it.We have moved on now to cottages and we still do mobile homes.🏠 We enjoyed watching Scotland 🏴 but we think the MotorHomes people have spoilt it for a lot of people in The Isle of Sky so disrespectful not like when we were camping 🏕️.So we are really enjoying watching 👀 and glad you’re back.We love this sort of content and your 🐶 dogs are a delight.So good luck Andrew and hope we see more of you.☮️☮️⛰️😴⛰️⛰️😴⛰️😴😴🐶🐶🐶🐶🏴🏴👀👀👀🏴👀🏴👀👀👀👀

It is lovely countryside around here, lots of water! Thanks for showing this video, was wondering if you'd do one this weekend. You're looking really well and it was lovely to see Dougal & Ted! Great video. Feel more relaxed as soon as I’ve watched it. Great to see you and the boys. I don’t know if you’ll remember, but we had a bit of a discussion at one time about my thoughts of setting up a website for listening ‘Caravan Friendly Chargers’. You suggested it could be a lot of work. Well in the end, I decided to go for it. Slowly adding sites.
