My parents would not buy me a game system as a kid. This was the first console I ever owned that I bought after earning money collecting cans, mowing lawns, etc when I was 11 years old. As a bonus I got loads of free games from my friends who all already had moved on to SNES and Sega,
I'm only 16 so but this was my first console I play, I used to play this thing all day at my uncle's house when I was like 8. He eventually gave me it and I have it with a disk system hooked to my flat screen. Awesome review man
Oddly enough the N64 and Gamecube never recieved a revision. They just had color varaiants and the Gamecube had Digital Out removed. The NES had the Top Loader, The SNES had the Junior as it was known in Japan, The Wii had a small version and the Switch has the Lite. Don't get me started on the Gameboys, GBA and DS lol. I have the Top Loader but, Composite ruins the experience. I just use my Older NES through an HDMI adapter.
@@yauy True. Though I feel as great as this revision is, I wish it was released a few years earlier. Like imagine if instead of 1993, it instead was a holiday Black Friday item for 1990, a year before the SNES releases states side.
Hi from Nebraska Bob! I just wanted to say I first found out about your channel when I was 12 back in 2012 when you posted the 3DS XL video. From providing nostalgia to just helping me relax my mind (I struggle with a lot of anxiety and ocd) with your very calming voice, I just wanted to say thank you and let you know that! Hope all is well and I hope you continue to keep making awesome videos!
Hey, there, Nick! I'm no stranger to anxiety here, either, and I also have my favorite videos on You Tube to help me with it. I'm happy to hear that my videos have helped you over the years and I thank you for watching (and commenting!).
Blows me away that Nintendo released the Dog bone controller with Diagonally B&A buttons. Holding down the run(B) button in lets say Mario 1,2 & 3 and then having to arch your thumb upwards to hit the A button when jumping botches the experience. It's why SNES games use Y as run, and B to jump since since the placement feels natural. Should of kept the tight placed B&A sideways layout like the OG NES controller. Dog bone is a little more ergonomic and comfy in the hands and the cable is placed at the top middle at least. I do love the top loader though. No cart door, or having to press down on the cart itself face down once inside, no composite cables popping out the right side of the console, it's smaller and i love how you can see the games box art since it's sticking out the top of the console. Although, NES carts are just a little too big. All of that wasted Grey plastic and large size looks a bit silly popping out the TL! :P
Love seeing these Unboxing Although Wish There was someone that made a detailed Unboxing like you For a Sega Master System and The model 2 Even the Turbo Graphics.
I think it’s important to remember that some games actually did use the extra space in the North American cartridges… by including a famicom cartridge board and an adapter inside to save money lol
The NES toploader look like the Super Nintendo. I'm stil a fan of this toploader. I want to get online day, and start playing each game for the system. I like the design.
In Australia & New Zealand, it came bundled with a 3-in-1 cart that includes Super Mario Bros, Tetris & Nintendo World Cup.

I was very fortunate to by this on the clearance rack at Kmart. The controller was a game changer.
Another awesome vid. I know you're a busy guy but just know, your fans are always looking forward to the next one

Two weeks late, but I enjoy these bits of history and unboxings. Thank you.

The Wii had 2 revisions.
Thanks, Bob, Glad to see your next anniversary video as always!
I'm just happy this thing is at least capable of being RBG modded. Though I seriously wish it had an eject button.
The cartridges are a bit difficult to remove.

Thank you for another informative video!

I like how they made the NES look like the Super Nintendo. I'm a true fan of uniformity lol
You can use the Famicom Disk System in a top loader NES

I plan to do some non-Nintendo unboxings as well.
@@yauy Sounds great Even a Detailed Sega Genesis Unboxing would be Great or Game Gear Atari Etc.

That is true!
Cool 😀👍👍

Uhm, i think something is wrong with the Video.
What problem did you notice?
The Video is now normal for me. What the Heck? I swear the Window of this Video was so small.
Glad it's working now. Thanks for watching!
@@yauy It was always enjoyable.
Ugly design.
