WoW the insanity of the 90s .... Love it - enjoyed you CJ instantly ripped b+v perfect instant Ramone!!! You guys Johnny always have just kicked my ass (still do) thank you!! 👍 🌟 😎
Dude 700 a week?? WTF man why not more? You deserved it and they could have paid more!! I’m sure John was making 5 times that or more. Do still get any money from being in the Ramones? If you don’t mind me asking. Thanks dude your a legend who played in a legend. You will go down in music history!! And I’m being serious.! Rock on dude
It's the reason why Richie left. They were basically treated by Johnny as hired guns rather than bandmates. I think there were a lot of great qualities about Johnny but giving band members what they were actually due wasn't one of them.
Thats like 1,447 dollars today, which is good money. The sad part is that a member of one of the most influential music acts in history was making much less than probably one roadie of any big pop act of the time.
@@pentagonoenllamas That would good pay for most touring musicians out there, but Ramones were pulling in a shit ton of money with their grueling tours in the 90's. I'm sure CJ was doing fine and probably wasn't having to spend much of that money during touring (this tour he's discussing being an obvious exception), but I think as far as Johnny was concerned he was just a hired hand and really didn't have any creative input aside from a few songwriting credits, so he wasn't going to pay him a fortune for basically mimicking Dee Dee. That's my assumption, anyway, based on what I know about the band's dynamic and Johnny's view of most band members as replaceable.
I think he means in terms of the personnel: Joey and Johnny not getting along, Dee Dee quitting to rap, Tommy quitting because he was "losing his mind" being with them, Richie quitting over T-shirt money, Marky being fired for boozing, only to be brought back (but ultimately not getting along with CJ apparently).
@@ScoopedMids - I really hope that CJ was getting points on the albums that he appeared on. I know he had some songwriting credits..so that would have helped him out a bit. Also, I wonder if he was getting a cut of the merchandise.. I know that not getting t-shirt money was one of the big reasons Richie left/was ousted from the band. I can't remember the exact number, but he (Richie) was only getting 350 or 450 a week during his time in the band.
Who should we film with next?
Melvins
Marky Ramone
Or Rancid
Ramones forever!
Definitely!
Awesome !!
Thanks!!
Laying down some miles.CJ the Road Dog

I thought the same thing. Pretty crazy
A fellow Marine! Semper Fi C.J!
Thanks for watching!
He got discharged
"Why don't you get Dee Dee and Tommy back?"... Maybe that's why Mark doesn't like CJ?
I think the Marky/CJ dislike started when CJ supposedly dated Marky's daughter and Marky was against it.
@@JoeyDamocles I know that story, it was actually Mark's niece :)
@@LetsGoMetsGo33 If I recall correctly Mark's niece was underage and CJ got her pregnant.
$700 a week? Yikes.
😱😱😱

2800 dollars a month is a pretty damn good salary especially for a musician.

@@-Ricky_Spanish- They wouldn't share the merch money with Richie after Richie had been in the band 5 years.
2:01 "really awkward career"?

$700.00 a week????? fuck that.
that’s 1,234 a week and about 5k a month which is good
I didn't know that any of the Ramones were still alive
All of the original members have passed on by this point, but Cj was in the band starting in the early 90s until the band finished up in 1996.
Shame... They invented punk
@@digitaltourbus 1989 to be exact
Ritchie and Marky are too still alive
Johnny was super super cheap. Now his widow shows off that money daily on instagram w her doofy boytoy
Wow. $700 a gig.
Not $700 a gig, $700 A WEEK! And The Ramones toured a lot so you know they would be doing a lot of gigs each week.
