I have never before seen a heard be artificially insemination. Interesting. The farms I know use a bull or bulls. Except if they are doing a few cows for show breed.
To introduce new bloodlines, to reduce risk of injuries, to confirm all the cows are covered ( the nice term for it) . Big bulls can injure cows or themselves doing the deed au naturel.
