You’ve been the biggest help getting me to start my career in photography thank you Manny! Literally so many topics that only you really spoke on. HUGE help even the 4 year old videos
Man… Thank you for this! Straight to the point but very informative. About to start my off camera flash journey finally and this helped ease my frustrations with lighting “the basics”. Btw those long eye-lashes… hate ‘em with with a passion lol. I always tell the models that I’ll be working with to keep them as natural as possible.. not blink then fly away 😂.
Great video! As a woman who wears lashes it's hard finding photographers who understand lighting and how to work with their model without losing confidence. Lighting is important! Great job, Manny.
Always love your videos but I have a question. Where did you get the equipment you use to hold your lights from the ceiling???? Please I need this for my space lol.
Very brief video Mr Ortiz but every second was packed with details. Appreciate it so highly. Got two questions if possible. 1) What the (Manny Ortiz) beauty dish produce that a regular softbox does not (I have MagMod 24 inch MagBox), and 2) in the video you had your beauty dish overhead a Westcott modifier below. What was the latter exactly?
Thank you for the once again great video ! This is the first time i comment on your videos. Just wanted to say that thanks to you i got into fotography in the first place ! Still learning a lot but i got so much allready from your videos. I bout the sony a7iii and the 85mm f1.8 and 35mm f1.8 and soon ill get the a7iv as my new main camera. Also got the godox ad200 pro and 2 godox speedlights. I will invest in your westcott softbox ! Thank u once again,
Im so glad you brought up the eyelashes. Lately ive had trouble with models having way too long lashes and I have to lower my flash and doesnt give the shadow under the chin that im wanting.
please make video for sony 6400 photography with model shoot, also show diff between JPEG and raw quality comparison, because 6400 has 12 bit raw technology.
Hey Manny, great video as always. I am getting into photography and would like to know if you have a tutorial on how to set up 2 off camera flash with 1 on camera? I appreciate it your tips
Sorry to hear this news Manny. Glad to hear PPA insurance was able to help you in this situation. It is a shame. I have quite a bit of photography cameras, lenses, expensive camera bags, etc. I try to be vigilant also, & try to limit the gear that I take with me & use bags that do look expensive, when carrying my gear. I live in a neighbourhood that has a lot of crime & I am giving serious thought to obtaining a concealed carry permit. I hate that this is the “reality” that we all have to deal with in America & through international travel as well.☹️
Great videos, I’m a fellow Chicagoan and recently got into photography, what do you do to your old lenses? I was looking for a used lens for Sony e mount
I have been learning from you from your first video sir. Like this and just wish I had taller ceiling in my studio. Thank you and keep up the great work.
close and far light, it seemed to make the most difference in the background shadow, where the close light had a much softer background shadow almost like a gradient, vs the far light which seemed to create a soft silhouette of her head and shoulders.
Hola Manny, soy aficionado y todo lo que he hecho es a pura prueba y errory siempre e batallado con las luces y esta explicacion es perfeta para ese problema, muchas gracias!
Gotta love this man. Srsly Manny, great job on those videos that are straight to the point and explaining everything in nutshell. When I see new video of yours that is around 3-5 minutes long I know that I will get as much useful information as I can get. Keep up great work! :)
wow. excellent advice. easy to understand, clear and concise. I really appreciate you taking the time to make a video like this and posting it for a beginner like myself to learn. thank you!
Thank you so much for this video, like the part about the eye lashes. That's a great help!

We need to put an end to those eyelashes in 2022 lol

I’ve asked my girlfriend which picture she likes more in blind test, and she likes the furthest one more. Just a funny observation
Yesss this came right on time as i just bought the manny beauty dish from b&h! 🤘🏽💜🔥

Hi sir manny im planning to buy your preset whats the good one for all around? specially wedding thanks!
Baseball cap eyelashes. Lol. Does this also apply to those ridiculous duck lips like my daughter does to herself? 🤣
How far or How many feet away « not too close or too far » the strobe should stand away from the subject, to get a soft and good exposure please?
I know she was a mannequin but him touching her eye like that made me uncomfortable and made my eyes water lol
Hey Manny can pair the beauty dish with fj200?
anyone else think the model is too close to the backdrop? looking how the backdrop is lit not even
Always love your videos but I have a question. Where did you get the equipment you use to hold your lights from the ceiling???? Please I need this for my space lol.
Working with long eyelashes has been a nightmare for me.

Those huge eye lashes are a pain! They're so HUGE! I'm glad you addressed that because they're everywhere now. Great video Manny!
Wait till you get the long nails and you tell her to place her hand on her face! 😂

I was looking around like crazy for the "red button that starts with an s", until I finally realised I'm already subscribed.

Kinda sad but I would love a step by step on how to pair up my trigger with the light. I forgot and never remember it step by step. Thankyouuuuu✨

Just what I needed on my lunch break…a Manny video.❤️
I finally picked up a strobe that has a built in modeling light - game changer / time saver for setups. Thanks for all the helpful content!
Fantastic video, Manny! Thanks for the great tutorial.

It’s still cold in Chicago. I can’t wait to get out and shoot in the elements
