Everyone complaining in the comments about how her form was off in her beam routine is really starting to piss me off. Yes, it wasn't her best event but why can't people point out how amazing her other events were? She's 10 and competing level 9 for christ sake, that's a big effort and amazing that she's up at that level at her age. It's so much easier to be nice instead of going out of your way to say nasty things.
I quit gymnastics when I was 13 because it was ‘too hard’ and I was only in level 3/4 she’s ten and already almost at the top standards. I don’t think people realize how much hardwork, blood, tears, sweat, pain and dedication it takes to be at that level.
Also, her beam routine, not as good as everything else. Straighten those legs on the back handspring step out to back layout step out!! Her bar routine deserved higher than 8.700!
I agree. I think this year we will see a huge improvement in her handstands, and everything for that matter. She is now training at the same gym Gabby Douglas finished training in, and the coaches are fantastic
I 1st saw the video of her as a level 4, and this is the result of hard work. Ava is so beautiful inside and out and now inspires people just because she never gave up, keep up the good work. Also, don't forget to have fun!
Gymnastics was my life. I had a bright future. I quit though because it was not fun anymore. I burned out. I am back in the gym now and I am happier than I have ever been. My point is please don't quite.
i quit two years ago and i recently started watching gymnastics videos on youtube, and it’s kind of motivated me and i lowkey want to go back but idk if i should cause i absolutely hate beam
I quit for a year (I’m on my grandparents account so...yea lol) and I just went back last year and then I tried out for team and made it. and last weekend I got my first 9 at state on beam
she is amazing!!! definitely a true hardworking gymnast. just a tip which I'm sure she's working in but it will improve her beam score so much if she really focuses on it- keep your legs straight in her beam series!!
I love that people still watch this and comment. Yes, she is 18 and has been at level 10 for the last 7 years. She will be competing for Central Michigan next year in college and still loves the sport.
Good lord people, she has only been competing at this level for half a season. Of course she has plenty of work to do, but plenty of time to work on it. Everyone else can see what you see, so be critical in your head. She is only 10
This video is so good! It Proves That You can be good, And it's Possible Being a young Age and still being Able do do all this stunts. It's Really Good. She's Such a Good gymnast, This inspiration Is Such a great Helper. I'm A gymnast. This proves I'm capable of doing anything. I'm going to try new things like This strong Girl. I'm so Happy For her. I hope She will make it into the Olympics!! Keep up the good work! Thank you for this inspiration!!
Please stop commenting on her beam routine :/ She is so good at her age and will contain to excel as time passes. She is doing amazing. Level 9 at that age is incredible. I hope to see her in the Olympics some day :) ❤️
Thank you for the kind words! I am now a senior in high school and signed on a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics at Central Michigan University.
I looked Ava up on google and she was the Valedictorian at her high school (Graduated this year). She moved out of the gym she completed for in this video to another to pursue going elite. However she ended up not competing elite because of an injury in 2020. In 2021 she decided to never compete elite because of the prior injury and decided to focus on level 10.
Oh my gosh you guys Zanesville gymnastics is litterly the best gymnastics place ever I miss that place so much and she did amazing because the coaches there are amazing and they don't force you to do things there and they compete at a higher level then other places
It kinda makes me sad that gymnasts are getting younger and younger not being able to experience their childhood I get it I was level 8 I believe wen I stopped n I was 12 but went to the gym 5 days a week for lik 3-5 hours everyday I loved it with every fiber in my being but their jus too young hVe a lil bit of a childhood….tho it is cool being able to do layouts n shit thru my 20’s….ps you killed it girlie!!!!
Did she skip any levels? I just watch her level 5 in 2014 and she's already level 9. That's terrific. I heard that level 6 can be skipped but wasn't sure how to skip additional levels.
Well, yes, she did skip level 6, but she did level 5-7-8 all in one season, and then went from 8 to 9 this last season. Thanks for watching. Ava loves gymnastics
+MrLackofSleep thanks for letting me know. Your daughter is pretty incredible. Mine is starting level 5 and she's 9 so I always thought she had some catching up to do. Maybe we will try to cover a couple levels this year. Have a terrific season. She has a neat style. I'm sure you're super proud.
Terry, Ava started at 6 and at some points we felt even that may have been too late. She was extremely physically strong which helped tremendously to power thorough new skills. If I had one advice to advance quickly it would be to pay attention to the strength training. Of course moving quickly up does not allow for concentration on little things like leg position, toes and grace. These are the things Ava is working hard to correct now that she is settling into this year again.
Ava will be a freshman in college next year at Central Michigan and will compete for them. She started at 6 years old and at that time I believe she was in the gym 3 days a week at level 4.
yeah, it doesn’t matter about age. how do you think pros like Simone Biles get so good in their teens? as soon as they are ready, they get moved up so they can work on skills at whatever level they are at. :) i’m only a level three but i am thirteen, it really doesn’t matter. depends on when you start too. i didn’t start until i was eleven
Why are the team mates so close to the gymnast while they are competing??? That’s crazy!! Are these gyms just so small? No one was ever this close when I competed…but im old 😂

Panic!AtTheDoge YES CANT THEY UNDERSTAND THAT THE BEAM IS ONLY 4 INCHES WIDE!!! THEYRE STUPID IDIOTS
Yes. I completely agree with you.
They have got to understand that the beam is 4 inches wide and made of wood and metal inside
COULDNT AGREE MORE
I’d like to see the haters try

Thanks for watching. Ava has moved gyms this year and the new competitions season is about to start. We are very excited.

Also, her beam routine, not as good as everything else. Straighten those legs on the back handspring step out to back layout step out!! Her bar routine deserved higher than 8.700!
+Kate Speed She missed almost all of her handstands on bars; she would've scored at least 9.0 if not for that.
I agree. I think this year we will see a huge improvement in her handstands, and everything for that matter. She is now training at the same gym Gabby Douglas finished training in, and the coaches are fantastic

Her fight to stay on that beam was INCREDIBLE! half of these people probably couldn't even walk on it without wobbling and falling off

I can't believe I've just watched this, Ava keep working hard and by 16 or over years of age hopefully you will be competing in the olympics 😊
Ava could be the next Shawn Johnson I believe. Same great landings. Petite, young and very confident. Her landings are spectacular.
i just came from her level 4 competition shes really improved since then.
I can’t wait to say I was watching her perform on YT since before she was an Olympian 🙀
She is peaking too early, she probably won’t make it to the olympics tbh

I believe that is called a fly-away. I'm just the dad, so I may be incorrect on that one. This year she switched to a Pak Salto transition.
