at times i dont understand how some do cancelling to others , may it be a person, brands, etc but i think some things are worth to call out for , especially if a person or brand is very influential in the society, for them to realize that what they doing is wrong. especially sa panahon ngayon that we advocate a lot of awareness of things (example: mental health, climate change, child or human trafficking…etc). but i guess, what we can do to teach people that not all things are for “cancelled culture”. marami mga tao na pa~woke, not understanding the value and weight of the social media. these things like cancelled culture, should be use wisely and be a critical thinker as a socmed user. love your episodes ❤
The problem with cancel culture is that people cancel others because someone popular negatively commented on them. People base their opinions and choices on what popular people say. Many idolize their tv, movie, social media idols too much that they simply judge and cancel others because their idols commented negatively about them. A nobody's opinion, no matter how sensible or negative it is, will not reach or garner support from the public. But when a known personality opined on someone, he/she almost automatically triggers opinions from his/her supporters. And that's where unhealthy discussions begin. And the sad part about it is that that known personality who sparked everything doesn't even make an effort to control his supporters. He/she just let them be with the excuse that and in the guise of: it's their opinion and they may share the sentiments with me. So I guess the greater responsibility lies on known personalities with many followings in social media. They should be responsible enough not to cause social media havoc. If in any case their opinions trigger such, then they should be responsible enough too to control their followers.
