    Very nice!!! Best option I’ve come across to utilizing still new stock suspension. Btw, does it require a sway bar relocation / differential drop kit as well? Thank you…

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  2 года назад +5

      It does not! It is not good to do a dif drop on any lift 3” or less. When a diff drop is done you put your axles at less of a angle then they came from the factory and that puts added load on the CV’s which in return causes them to go out. Some companies include a diff drop so you think you are getting more for your money.

    I would be curious to see the angle of the front axles before and after the lift. How can the front be lifted 3.5 inches and not need a differential drop?

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  Год назад

      We don’t lift anything over 3”. You can not lift any Toyota Over 3” with factory upper and lower arms and still get it to align.

      @@westcottdesigns In the video the front comes up 3.5". Is it because you use only a half inch spacer at the top strut mount that you do not need a differential drop?

    Live in Tucson, thinking of buying this kit and making the short drive to have yall install, btw do y’all carry 285s BFG All Terrain KO2s and FUEL VECTOR wheels with a +7 offset and whats the best wheel offset yall recommend for this kit to ensure there’s no rubbing…

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  Год назад

      We keep over 309 tires in stock at all times! So for sure would have KO2’s👍. As for the vector wheels I would need to check. If not I could have them within a day. Wheel size would be a 17x8.5 with a 0 offset and bolt pattern is a 6x139.7. Let me know if you want me to check the schedule to get you in.

    Questions:
    1. What size tires are on the truck in the video?
    2. After installation, are the original alignment settings disturbed, thus requiring a suspension alignment after installation of the kit?
    3. I see that the anodizing is optional - How corrosion resistant are the components without having the anodizing (Are they coated with clear, or are they bare)?

    I have a 2021 venture model with KDSS suspension so I’m not sure if that changes anything.

    Does a collar lift hurt the longevity or long term reliability of the car?

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  Год назад +3

      Not at all! It works the same way a coil over does but we don’t make it adjustable. It goes in the same spot as the factory collar and does not change the amount of upward or downward travel of the strut. I have been doing our kits since 2015 when I worked for Toyota and some of the trucks have 150k miles on them and no problems. We have never had one fail or cause failure. I do not believe in ever replacing a part with a equal or lesser part. If it’s not better I don’t want any part of it. We over engineer and over build everything.😊

    I am way to far away from Westcott, and so I am not able to travel to have them install it. Out of curiosity, what's the common experience with auto/tire shops installing these? Do many say that they won't install them? No problems or issues at all? I figured I would ask while they are in transit.

    Does this set up cause issues with the travel, bump stops, or shock binding?

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  7 месяцев назад +1

      It does not. It bottoms out on bump stop like designed from the factory. We divide the lift into 2 parts for a couple of reasons the lower collar creates preload on the spring in return give the lift. The 1/2” shim on top creates lift as well. So by dividing it like this we are able to keep from coil bind or premature shock bottoming out internally before hitting the bump stop.

    This kit is extending the shock right? so the ride is going to be very stiff

    • @westcottdesigns
      @westcottdesigns  Год назад +1

      We are not extending any more then factory allows. We are not extending the travel or taking away from any of the travel as well. When people install this kit on their 4Runner they all say it drives better with the kit then it did stock. It will really help get rid of the big nose dive at stops and the side to side body roll.
