- I've heard from a few people that the K-line is a dead zone, I've always seemed to time it right. In 6-months I have video of almost every crossing on the subdivision from MP:00 to MP56
The only active crossings missing are
MP:4.6 Angelrodt St
MP:5.9 ADM plant xing
MP48.4 Dalbow Rd can be seen in this video at 5:34 • Afternoon on the K line.
MP53.5 Keeteman Rd
*BNSF has standardized all their equipment, all of these signals have either been installed or upgraded in the last 10 years. Some BN crossings remain with upgraded gate mechanisms and e-bells. But railfanning is capturing the moment. Will in 2030 or 2040 these signals still be around, surely they won't look and operate as well as they do now. So enjoy the video!
So which crossing is your favorite? Mine is Highway 94 in Orchard Farms.

Can we all appreciate that this guy still uploads after 13 years?

Hey bud good to hear from you! Shoot me an email with your number in it
What a great idea for a video . Loved it. James.
1:04 Too early?
Constant Warning Time (CWT) I think BNSF has a Harmon/GE HXP-3 on this crossing. It constantly monitors the approaches and times the gate activation's consistently, in this case, yes it started too early and then timed out and reactivated because the train sped up, nothing wrong with the signal system, it worked as intended. CWT processors have come a long way in the last 30 years and soon enough signals might be totally activated by GPS/satellites through PTC software. They already do this one some electrified lines and Amtrak Higher Speed lines.www.railwayage.com/news/grade-crossings-get-smarter-safer/
