What an utter waste of resources. The dwindling team of Max devs have wasted yet more time on releasing Stingray as a main new feature in the form of '3dsMax interactive'. Another useless piece of abandonware bloating Max. Not to mention the fact that UE4 is light years ahead of anything that Adesk could even attempt. The amount of great tools/plugins/programs that Adesk have murdered over the years is scandalous. Softimage being the primary example. Adesk are just pure corporate scum.(the management, I mean. Not the hard-working creative devs)
3ds Max Interactive isn't really a part of Max. It remains Stingray with minimal changes. As such, it's a seperate program that you must install. It serves as the backbone to Revit Live and as an interactive archviz tool, which it does fine. If you don't need it, don't install it. Autodesk is partnering with Unity for the game stuff. I'm not sure what that means yet...
I came here to say about the same thing. Lumberjack, Unreal, Unity, endless list, Last thing we need is another 'platform'. I spent 25 years waiting for 3D Studio to make use of my 3D Vision glasses and monitor. Never hapoened (except when they mistakely ALLOWED it to work in a couple driver releases around 3ds max 2010...). SO THEN I HEAR 3DS MAX INTERACTIVE VR, I think, GEE PERHAPS I THINK THAT MEANS WORKING IN 3DSMAX in VR interactively, like Editor VR in Unity and VR Editor in Unreal. OF COURSE they didn't mean that. Interactive VR viewport seems to be a fiction.
Can you please supply a link to oculus templates? thanks
