I love how intense and energetic Scotty gets when talking about defensive strategies.
You can tell deep down that he wishes he could still play.

Scott Stevens is the Bill Belicheck in hockey. Pure GENIUS!!! Was not only captain but the LEADER of New Jersey's championship run that did what they called "Neutral Zone Trap " (NZT) was a stifling form of Defense that required very good stick handling against your opponents. Thats why only he is qualified to teach it. Remember his one year as Minnesota WIld DC...,he had them in top 3-5 defensive categories. And they had two 12 wins or better winning streaks that year. And had second best points in west. After he. Left...???????? Well u c the results. Bruce's team is getting worsted by the year. Dig It???

If scott Stevens translated this to basketball, he basically summed up what a power forward should do in the defensive perspective. Just as you don’t want an opposing forward to get an easy shot, its equivalent to not allowing a slam dunk

Another couple minutes and Scott would have killed that guy with a thunderous shoulder check.

It's wild to me how some old school GM in the league today hasn't grabbed up Scott Stevens and given him a head coach job.

its amazing that coaches do not coach this in todays nhl. defensemen all over the league are trash and lack the skill and its amazing these pros do not understand how poorly they play the game
