- Gabrielle Brooks performs 'Viola's Soliloquy' from our upcoming musical adaptation of Twelfth Night. This performance was filmed in Notting Hill where our stage production is set.
Shakespeare gets a shake-up as soulful melodies and R&B beats weave through this enchanting musical adaptation of Twelfth Night.
Viola and her twin brother Sebastian wash up on the shores of Illyria and when she disguises herself as a man, a joyous whirlwind of gender-bending and unrequited love begins.
This celebration of love in all its forms features an awe-inspiring community chorus from Southwark and Lambeth with music and lyrics by the critically acclaimed songwriter Shaina Taub.
Young Vic Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah and The Public Theater’s Oskar Eustis co-direct this extraordinary UK premiere.
Twelfth Night is now running at the Young Vic until 17 November.

I watched this play the other day and it was absolutely incredible, the soundtrack was one of the most moving things I have ever heard, I just wish I would be able to listen to all the songs like this. Every time I’ve been to the young vic, which a lot, I have been blow away to whole other level. It really was a special experience seeing this play ! Directing, acting, singing, is pure gold.
I had the chance to see this play just last night and it was mind blowing. I had such a great experience. I wish I could buy all the music to listen to it all day

Saw this last night. Brilliant set and great energy. Loved Gabrielle Brooks performance as Viola - a really connected performance. Funny that in this current time of fluid sexual identity, Shakespeare is once again the go-to playwright source! Great idea. Love the Young Vic completely and look forward to what Kwame does with it.
We saw this at the weekend: a wonderful story adapted to fit into 90 minutes with arrangements and singing to pull on the heart strings. What wonderful performances - the team must be wonderful to have brought it all together like they did. We sat a few rows back, which was ideal as we were at stage height, rather than below. So happy to have been able to add this wonderful adventure to life's great roller coaster!!
Saw the matinee today. Fabulous. Outstanding performances, amazing singing and such humour. Loved every second. Wish it could be extended as would love my three girls to see this.
