  • Cute and playful. Watch the tiny Lion Cubs, fathered by Casper The White Lion and Brothers, take on the world in Kruger National Park as they stroll down the main road with mother Lioness and two of their proud aunts!
These are the Lionesses of the Satara Lion Pride parading the cubs down the road for all to see and for them to get used to their new surroundings and the real world out there.
The pride want the cubs to get used to the tourist and traffic asap because they know that is the reality of life in Kruger National Park.
The Pride is growing and with Casper and Brothers in charge this could become a Mega Pride!

GAME DRIVE ETIQUETTE - RULES (SANParks):
    - When you come across a sighting, slowly pull over on the side of the road closest to the animal, but keep a safe distance and turn OFF your engine
    - If there are animals in the road, immediately stop at least 20 m from them
    - The lane furthest from the sighting should NEVER be blocked, so that others can pass if they want to
    - Don’t linger longer than a few minutes at a sighting, so that others can view it too
    - Never go off the designated roads
    - Never climb out of your vehicle during a drive, or hang out of your car windows or sunroof
    - Don’t hoot or blare loud music
    - Avoid driving into vegetation, as this could damage the environment or kill small animals
    - During night drives, never shine a spotlight directly in animals’ eyes
    - Never make noise to get animals to move, stand up or otherwise react for pictures
    - Respect the rangers, and always comply with their requests or instructions

What a beautiful sighting. I think the cubs will be well protected by these lionesses who seem to have a good bond and the four brothers.

Good to see all three lionesses playing with and caring for the cubs. This will improve the cubs survival rate immensely. As for the elbow hygroma on the 1 lioness it is not a huge issue unless it gets infected. If it does then it would need to be drained then flushed with antibiotic rinse and she would need to be given a course of antibiotics as well. Sadly the odds of that happening are slim to none so all we can do is watch and pray it doesn't get infected.

Happy to see the momma lioness and her cubs with the pride. Hopefully, they can make a kill and keep the little ones well fed. So cute watching their little legs trotting to keep up. The cubs don't seem timid, and already used to their car entourage.

Thank you so much for posting the rules especially, staying 65' away from the animals on the road. Lions get tired of being eaten by ticks, and like to lay in the road for some relief. A lion conservationist.

I noticed with one of the female pride when she sat down in the sand pile she's got a great big cyst hanging from her right front leg towards the back part of the leg. That's typically caused from being shot and then they grow a huge scar over it. Poachers are trying to kill them poor animals. I wish there was a game warden over there to protect them animals and to make sure that all of those majestic animals are protected somehow.

An elbow hygroma is a fluid-filled swelling that occurs over the elbow joint. ... Elbow hygromas are non-painful and can occur over any bony prominence or pressure point, including the 'sit bones' of the hip and/or hock joint, but they are most often seen over the elbow.
Elbow hygromas occur when lions frequently lay on hard surfaces, such as paved roads or concrete which repeatedly causes minor trauma to the thin skin over a bony prominence
The definition of hygroma in the dictionary is a swelling in the soft tissue that occurs over a joint, usually caused by repeated injury.
A hygroma is a false bursa, which is a nonpainful, fluid-filled swelling surrounded by a thick, fibrous capsule that develops under the skin. Hygromas most commonly develop on the outside of the elbow. They can also occur on the hip and hock.

@@shantonabsen2299 Everybody spotted it. Maybe they don't want to set a precedence. Then they have to cure other lions. Healthcare is expensive and the lions have no insurance.

    • @Pawsandtales321

It’s an elbow hygroma. From what read about it it’s not life threatening and it’s not painful and can happen from sitting on hard surfaces. It can also be seen in dogs and horses.

    • @reggitwend7405

If it's not something caused directly by humans they won't do anything about it. It it had been caused by a snare or being struck by a car or a poacher, then they might try to intervene, but otherwise, nature will take its course. Tough pill to swallow and often heartbreaking.
They also don't want to cause undue stress on the lion and lions by tracking sedating etc etc etc, and then there's no guarantee that the lion would be welcomed back bc they'd stink of humans.
