The more cheerful fragments are the good memories with the game, that stuck into our heads, our eyes, or even our hearts, and the more jaded parts are the game's state for now, and the worry for it's future. Perfect for pvz horror game where crazy Dave remembers how the whole apocalypse started… Ok idea thing: “I renember when the apocalypse started…” *you question how it happened, why were here…* “It all started with these two boys… idk how they broke in, but they stole the zombie formula… I tried to warn everyone that the end is near… but… nobody would believe me…” *you were shocked a bit… you ask more about this.* “Wabi Wabo… my brother (or friend) Edgar was excited about this apocalypse… that’s because he’s OBSESSED with zombies…” “So that’s why we’re here… and why we need to get into the survivor base… we need to stop this apocalypse before it’s too late… webi wabo…”
Theory (might sound stupid): Crazy Dave is just crazy and imagines that zombies are real and plants are weapons, and the player is his friend trying to help him snap back to reality, and when he does snap back(somewhere in the final stage), he suddenly gets mental issues and boom
You know, this makes me think. Considering that, during the run time of the games, everyone, or, at the very least, every human in Dave’s city is dead and zombified, except of course, for Dave and for his neighbor, how does this effect them? I mean, you can make the case that Dave is, at least partially insane, and as such does not care one bit and is just having a blast surviving. But, I would make the case that, by Plants vs Zombies 2, he acts less deluded, and more like he is acting foolish, as if he is pretending to be much more un-knowledgeable then he actually is. Let’s look at what we know for absolute certain about Dave from the run time of these 2 main games: he is clearly an incredible botanist, the sentient plants that he has at his disposal are almost certainly his creation, and let’s not even mention the fact that he turned a van into a time traveling device WITH an onboard fully sapient AI. But, what reason would he have for acting like this? Well, obviously, it’s to not give Dr. Zomboss any ideas. The reason Zomboss is so invested in eating his brain is to gain his knowledge in all things, and he acts insane or foolish in order to throw him off the trail, and make it so that the only way Zomboss will ever get the knowledge he seeks, is by defeating him in battle. Alright, now, I was just speculating there, but it feels right to me, you know? And if what I said had any truth to it, then Dave would absolutely suffer some kind of trauma from this entire endeavor, one which, even if surpassed, would come back to haunt him. But, you know, at least he has his neighbor there with him, an individual who has gone through the exact same experience, and who might be able to console him. We don’t know much about the neighbor, we can assume that they are mute, and that they, given that they presumably beat both games, have a keen strategic mind. And before you tell me that the neighbor is a figment of Dave’s imagination, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. In the games, we see the world through the neighbors point of view, not Dave’s, so we can safely assume that if anything else acknowledges the neighbors presence, then he must actually be there. But nobody acknowledges his presence, right? Everyone is a zombie, right? Well… Penny does. Penny is the Time Traveling super intelligent AI made by Dave, who often disagrees with him, showing that she was not programmed to believe everything he says without question. But hey, that’s just my theory.
After defeating doctor zomboss he accidentaly fell off the roof but with the pot on hes head he didnt get any brain damage but just a little tremble he woke up to reality seeing that all of hes plants were just normal plants the zombies were never real he was just fighting his childhood imaginary freind that turned into hes imaginary rival
What if in one of those Impossible mode Mods it gets explained as of why Is the game so hard Lore-Wise and This is the song used for the lore cutscene Like example since They Ate The Player, Now Dave Is TRULY alone And Twice if Not More of The Zombies He Fought Are Coming Over To his House Now, Plus, Since Edgar Probably Took The Player's Brain The Zombies Developed More And More Smart Ways To Attack or something
