- It's OK to be intimidated by gulls. Many of them look similar to each other, and they exhibit a plethora of plumages. Winter in Ontario is a great time to become more familiar with this group of birds. Justin will discuss some ways you can become more comfortable with gulls, and even come to enjoy them!
I just found this, so Im well late for the party but a really good video with lots of info. Keep up the good work and Im sure there are newer videos for me to find.
Thank you so much for this presentation! I really have been avoiding gulls due to their similarities. I feel ready to actually try IDing them now!
Awesome video ... thank you!
Thanks for the video! I've been trying to get better with my winter gulls and it's been tricky! Cheers
Thank you OFO and Justin, really enjoyed this and learned a lot.
"Rare gulls are rare..." so true, but when you do actually come across one of those special uncommon-to-rare-to-mega rare Larus gulls... that feeling is what it's all about!
Very helpful! Thank you!
On behalf of all bird lovers of the UK, apologies for the Londoner with the anti-gull attitude! That comment was unacceptable. Tell us where he is and we'll give him a good talking to! Unbelievable. The funniest bird ignorance I've come across was someone it our local park asking when the black swans would change colour and turn white...
For the love of god no one is going to share your passion for gulls listening to you drone on.... Over 12 minutes in and you haven't said anything. I came to learn how to ID gulls not listen to you all the reasons why I should ID them.
bro im 26 minutes in and still learning... if you really have such little patience, unable to endure an introduction, perhaps gull identification is not your cup of tea.
@@kyleallen6680 Sure I learned some things.... like I'm much better at determining the age of a gull after watching this but very little was gained that helps me identify different species. Perhaps it isn't my cup of tea but it would seem the community that does ID them doesn't want to share the tea. It's OK. I'll eventually do my own video, in the mean time I have 100s of photos that have captured between 1 and 2 dozen species would you like to ID them for me?
@@kyleallen6680 PS, 24,000 people gave the video a thumbs down so I'm not alone. But yeah it got 1.9m thumbs up so... obvious more love than frustration so no need to get worked up over my venting my disappointment.
What a loser comment. It's a lecture. If you want short and concise, try a book... one with pictures. Unbelievable.
