I honestly am so proud of Daniel as not only was he persistent in getting a job and got it,he then went out and canvassed around his neighbourhood offering yard services for a second job., and then after working a stressful first day already on cash by himself and getting the hang of it, when asked if he was tired or if it was hard, he replies not really and that it wasn't hard. Such a positive attitude, go getter, hard working entrepreneurial young man. He is going to be very successful one day. Most kids his age these days would not be going around and offering to do yard work to the point mom and dad has to tell him to come home and have some dinner. Most are busy with video games to want to even move,👍👍. I am proud because Daniel was an older adoptee with obvious sad circumstances and had to leave his culture, people and country behind and be adopted into an American family living in a different country and so adjustment is harder for older adopted children,especially boys. To see him adjust and thrive and be so confident in the short time he has been with this family is amazing. He loves to cook, takes care of his health by wanting to work out, has changed his hairstyle and started using contact lenses and obviously takes pride in himself and really shows that he is a very determined young man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it. You do have a glowing circle around you! We are so so proud of you Daniel!🤗
Maybe they're a little embarrassing but I'm sure the boys don't actually mind!! Seeing you guys and Daniel together makes me feel all warm & fuzzy... I know older child adoption is NOT easy, but there's clearly so much love there ❤️.
TheJmk1962 honestly cash register and soda duty isnt that hard because its all buttons with pictures of food that you click when people are ordering. It gets really easy when you work on it for a day or a week.
Ivy Grzyb I worked at McDonald’s before and it’s tough even at the counters. Especially with the seemingly never ending crowds and fulfilling the orders.
Jia Hao i worked at subway. It is tedious work but as long as you concentrate you'll get through it! Elijah was also on cash registers as far as I could tell so who knows who really has it worse.
I’d rather work at chik fil a. I worked the register at McDonalds and Subway when I was in high school. I loved how fast paced everything was. Made the time go by super fast. I wouldn’t want to walk around cleaning things in a dark theater all day.
I would have hired Elijah and Daniel right away. They are both friendly, well mannered and very likeable. You can see they would be trustworthy employees and polite to customers. am really happy for both of them that their so happy. 💓 Great job Guys.

I came here after reading a comment about older adoption on Myka Stauffer's vlog about adoption. I must say i fell in love with this family and my fav. is Daniel. I watched his introduction and his vlog on his adoption among others. He grew up to be a very good looking and hard working guy. I've known him for few hrs only but i'm incredibly proud of him. Love your family.
As someone who has worked a few restaurant jobs, Elijah definitely has the better end of this deal! Not sure you could pay me enough to work in the food industry again, but it does build great character and a lot of patience!

Ain’t it GREAT having kids who are EAGER to get out there and earn their way?! I never had to prompt or pester my kids to venture out into the work force either, and I believe it’s a confirmation of raising them with self-confidence, independence and a healthy dose of making sure they “earned their way” in the family too! My kids all had a chore chart of rotating house duties (much like your family), but they did not receive any money for those tasks, as they were the typical things of housekeeping and caring for one’s self, that no one can ever be expected to get paid to do! Beside our chore chart was a list of extra “payable chores” that our children could choose from to earn cash! It worked out great! Thanks Knorpps for sharing your success in parenting with all of us!

I used to work at both chick-fil-a and at a theater. Chick-fil-a was hard work and they really do put you up front on the first day. The theater job was much more chill and fun.
Thats great for them! I told my kids they have to get jobs at a grocery store so we can get the employee discount in order to feed them all- ha! If you still need kitchen basics check out a local restaurant supply store- they are cheaper than most stores and they have items like extra large baking pans etc. that are great for bigger families.
It's wonderful to see the older boys growing up and working but at the same time it's sad that the time is flying by and this is the beginning of their adult life and going their separate lives...

I got my first paid job at age 12, babysitting my nextdoor neighbor's 2 yr old. But, my grandmother was home and watching the child, too. Lol. My first outside of the house job was at 14. I worked as a cashier doing what Daniel did, but at a different restaurant.

The kids are so happy being at a home base. I know traveling is awesome as well but there is something to say about having a constant home base and not having to live from a suitcase. So cute the boys got their jobs. I am sure they will be great workers with all the practice they have had with your chores assignment regimen. Now to have them learn to drive so you don’t have to have an extra job of driving them to work.

The kids are so happy being at a home base. I know traveling is awesome as well but there is something to say about having a constant home base and not having to live from a suitcase. So cute the boys got their jobs. I am sure they will be great workers with all the practice they have had with your chores assignment regimen. Now to have them learn to drive so you don’t have to have an extra job of driving them to work.
