I'm so envious of everyone that was there to experience this set. This version of Keep the last light on always makes me cry. The sirens in the breaks of Ropes Length, this is one of the most perfect performances I've ever heard and seen
I adore this set. Absolutely gorgeous musician. The last show the full band played in portland,Maine I had brought my family, our two toddler children and my beautiful wife to see. Not familiar with the venue I had assumed it was a classy joint. It was a sketch little punky dive bar. We dressed up for the occasion too so we stood out like sore thumbs. I wonder if he saw two toddlers rockin' in the crowd.
The beauty of Rick and Pile is you get to hear the same songs re-imagined a million different ways as the years go on. It’s never the same. And that makes being a part of this ride that much more fun and special. Thanks, Rick
I switched to youtube music just to have this with me all the time. This has got to be the best recorded concert for me! I listened to this every single night for the past 4 months or so falling asleep to the gentle voice and tones of Rick ans bis guitar. Thank you for this! Hope you come to Germany soon, I missed the last tour because I was sick
It always amazes me how Rick can create these beautiful and complex songs and recreate them on one guitar, he is such a good song writer, probably my favourite :))
After "You're better than this," Rick started writing absolutely devastating lyrics. Hairshirt is already a difficult listen as it is, but hearing the lyrics so cleanly enunciated in this setting puts them on a whole other level.
I was at the Seattle show during this tour. Walked in expecting an acoustic or electric solo performance. Walked out a different person in the best way. I can’t even begin to explain how it touched my soul.
The vocals and some other content seems new for I don't want to do this anymore. Also, I kept notes on the setlist in my phone live, and there were two unreleased tracks (which I jotted down some lyrics) that I swear were played in the set and cut from the recording. The video seems continuous with no cuts so it's hard to believe me, but they were right before ropes length and raised by ghosts.
Keep The Last Light On is a b-side that was only released in 2018 on a comp. He also changed the lyric from "And if he's okay" to "And if he's okay with letting go." That may be what you're thinking of. Rope's Length is from hairshirt and My Employer is from Green and Grey; the albums are two years apart but he plays them here as two parts of the same song so you may have caught it that way too. There are noticeable edits before those two songs though. Oddly enough the edits are even the same. He fades out the song on his pedal board and then the next cut is a different camera angle where he immediately launches into the next song.
Checking back in 2+ years later to confirm how absolutely paradigm shifting this performance continues to be.
If church felt this spiritual I would go every Sunday.
Pile, solo or full band is high on my bucket list for live bands, super impressive
God probably kneeled after hearing this prayer

I wish this was on Spotify, so I could listen to it day and night 🥲
Thanks for everything Rick
Saw him do this set later on this tour. One of the most important musical experiences of my entire life.
Being at this show was one of the most memorable music experiences of my entire life. Thanks Rick.
Saw him on this tour in Seattle. Best show I’ve ever witnessed, hands down.
Such a beautiful setting and great setlist. I also think it has my favourite live version of leaning on a wheel
@@rachel3197 out of all the goosebumps pile has ever gave me this version of leaning on a wheel was the goosebumpy-est
Incredibly jealous lol
I feel honored I was able to open up for him on this tour in Atlanta. Such a powerful performance!

Honestly Pile and Boards of Canada make the only music that can make me cry.
I fucking love your music Rick. Thank you
Love the sirens at the beginning of rope's length. Give's it such a live feel. The Boston experience.
I don't understand how it's possible to be this talented. Keep up the good work, Rick.
the sirens at 23:43
I thought that was here on my town hahaha
Thanks for telling it
Rick's voice control has improved so much in recent years. He's absolutely flawless here! 💛 Beautiful performance in a beautiful setting.
That’s such a good observation! Just like everything he does.
Thanks!
This is such a treasure.
The GOAT
Love pile. Thank you Rick, you're really giving your all in these performances
Thanks so much for sharing this up. Was at the show, but missed out on the stream. So psyched to see it again. And then again.
(also: I wondered if the Newbury St. sirens during Rope's Length would get picked up, and they totally, perfectly, did. \m/ )
Yes, yes, yes. Now I can listen to this everyday, thank you 🙏🏻
I was at this show! The echoey church brought out all sorts of glowing, beautiful overtones that you can only really feel live. Ty for the upload
So grateful for this set. Thank you! Great video and great sound. Please re-release it once the new songs are released!

Same, there were definitely variations!
Missing the harsh contrast bits from Pile
