PIZZA MASSACRE - 2 DIFFERENT VERSIONS

After playing weenie cop character mod I was interested to see what other previous games that mcpig worked on. A friend told me about Pizza Massacre, a 2d resident evil like horror gameplay. What surprises me though is that there are two versions of it. One that recreates what mcpig is going for, the other is still going for a pizza tower gameplay but at an average pace. I’ll be honest, the first one seems more true to Pizza Massacre, while the second one takes a bit too much inspiration from Pizza Tower to a point where it doesn’t feel like Pizza Massacre, more like it’s own thing.

the Demo 1 version by Garage Dweller Studios never got a sequel as the studio shut down after internal issues, the second one was actually released BEFORE that one, I believe

So the first one is if Mcpig didn't get inspired by the Shoulder Bash-like pizza cutter move, and the second one is if Mcpig went down about the same path as he went down in our timeline, but he stuck to the Pizza Massacre idea instead of that game kinda becoming Don't Make A Sound I guess.

Hi there, I was a coder for the first Pizza Massacre. I don't really want to spoil the plot of the game, but I will say that the project was cancelled because of the team imploding due to personal drama, with some of the main leads on the team leaving because of some pretty petty opinions shared between them I find.
Edit: I will say I'm not sure why it's labelled as a demo one, unless we released the project to the public after it got shut down I have no idea while it was labeled as a demo. It was closer to a prototype if anything.

@@Koistork it was just cancelled because 3 Dev's threw a fit, it was going to continue without them but they gave everyone hell, and since it was brought up I will say it was for the best especially do to the controversial and immature shit they did, as for the second one they stole code from pizza tower so there's really nothing impressing from it imo, honestly hope that maybe one day someone will make a better version then both these games. and with that being said for anyone who is interested in using the outside music I composed, feel free to use it.

@@lr_artoonist Yeah, I didn't agree with their reasoning at all and objected against them wanting to fire Butter. The way they taunted the other team and got into fights with them was also pretty immature and shouldn't have happened. I still think the project could work under a better and more professional team though.

The second is just literally like playing Dont Make a Sound but worse. Meanwhile the first one is reaaly cool, it looks a little bit slow an tideous but if they add a run button its fixed. Maybe it would be better if you had objective that incentivates exploration like you need kill all the enemies or rescue the toppins and to spice it up there could be monsters that if are awakened the follow you (again like in DMAS ) or IDK

I think the point was that the game was going to be intentionally slow, like a dungeon crawler. I might've advocated for either changing Peppino's walking speeds or giving him more actions he could perform that would boost his speed.

I didn't think there would still be people playing this game, even so I think I prefer the canceled version much more than the Halloween one, it's the one that comes closest to a real Pizza Massacre.

Yeah, after seeing this, can easily understand why mcpig went in other direction for the game, honestly with such graphic that exclude gore and blood would made game horror for kids or garbage if it didn't went with this idea that way, so glad that we get our beloved silly speedy platformer instead of this joke of the horror (horror in Pizza Tower is joke and because of this it works, there game itself looks like this joke and it didn't work at all even in polished out version).

What do you mean by would made game horror for kids? Some of the sprites (mostly unused) literally depict blood and other. Plus I don’t think indie stuff becoming garbage kids content is always going to happen. There’s usually a reason why.
