Jason, your reviews are extremely helpful and thorough. Thank you for taking the time and going through each aspect of the shoe and its use. I use your guide as a go to now when I'm looking to purchase a new shoe. Thanks for your work.
I just bought a US 10 pair of Vivo Tracker Decon Low FG2 Mens. They were PAINFULLY tight - even with the insole removed. I loosened the laces but that just made them slip in the heel and gave me terrible blisters. They've got a good half inch in front of the big toe so I can't go larger. But they squeeze the heck out of my instep and ankle and little toe. They just won't work for wide high volume feet. I love the build and grip. I just wish they'd make true wide shoes. Until then, I'm shopping elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend them. I'm looking at other barefoot brands with wide widths. It's sad that the barefoot movement seems to be leaving the high volume wide community out to dry just like most regular sneaker manufacturers since proper fit is their core value.
You definitely gave me confident to size up my primus lite, thanks! I have bunion on my right foot. I have tried to go according to the size they provided on their site but it was too snug for me. When I size up 1 size, I feel way way more comfortable but a bit loose lengthwise. When sizing up, I have the same tripping issue even when I am casually walking with the shoe, not sure is my problem or what... Hope it won't cause bad biomechanics...Thanks Jason!
Thanks for sharing Amber! Glad sizing up also worked out for you 😊 unfortunately, long term poor body mechanics is still probably better than short term cramming your foot in a tiny shoe EVERY time you wear it... time will tell I suppose 🤷♂️
This is great video. Makes sense now. I just got the same one and first vivo pair delivered yesterday. The app recommended 12.5 while the site advises to get your normal size. I am 11.5. What a bummer when I tried them. The length was ok but on the long side. Though, because my feet are wide the feels tight. Gonna def be a challenge when wearing thick socks. Maybe these are not meant for my feet. No issues though with Xero however they re not as cool design
mens US size 9 is supposed to have an insole length of 26.6 centimeters according to their sizing guide. my Magna FGs are about 27.9 centimeters, which is closer to what they consider size 11. i guess this would make more sense if the centimeter length is supposed to be the length of your foot rather than the length of the shoe's insole, but that would STILL be a ridiculous length. gonna be returning them tomorrow
Thank you for your video. I've found Vivo Addis on sale buy they're one size bigger and I was wondering if I should take the risk or not... I know that different models have different fits. Do you know what about the Addis?
Wow. I had the same problem and decided to try out Freets instead. I even went to a men's size to get more width but ended up with too much space in the shoe in other places including the front. My only regret is that Vivos have these fantastic thin soles of 2.5 mm. I felt the ground less when I put on the Freet Tangas. However, they really do feel wider.
It’s funny I actually found that vivo always recomends a bigger size then needed in terms of length.. like if your feet doesn’t need it in that direction.. why to walk w that..? Maybe the problem is actual the design and they could just improve in width in general.. or we can change brands ahah freeeet is an amazing option! Idk if it is only me tho, vivo seems to already suggest a big size so going one up seems like having extra extra
And having imported genuine Nike's by container loads in past I know they actually cost a mere couple of dollars to manufacture. It's only about money; forget the foot wear and merely walk barefoot.
@@phenogen8125 i agree, ive been slowly transitioning to completely barefoot. although still need shoes for certain situations and want to get the most natural fit possible.
Just recently got some Primus Lite III and they started getting those same splits after less than two weeks! I think they might be too narrow for my feet. Gonna return the Vivos and try Xero and Freet next.
I've got wide feet and I live in my Freet Connect 2s, the only shoes I've ever found really comfortable. Here's a tip: Freet is one of the few shoe sites that gives width measurements, which I sort of applaud, but it's misleading. A lot of their shoes are technically wider than the Connect 2s (though only by a couple of millimetres), but, based on my recent purchase of their Tangas, they won't actually feel as spacious as the Connect 2s. It's down to the upper: the Connect 2 are made of an incredibly soft (and breathable and water resistant) material, so my toes can spread in them. But any of their shoes not made from that material probably won't feel wide enough as I don't think they're any wider than Vivos.
@@JohnMoseley Totally agree with your comment John. I will absolutely keep this in mind about the Tangas in the future, as I did fear this might be the case. Thanks!
Good video. I had the same problem with the Vivo Primus Lite 3. The toe box is WAY too long and not wide enough. The solution isn’t to ‘size up’ to Vivos - the solution is to go with another brand. I like Xeros much better. More vertical space for toe movement as well. Vivos just piss me off…the whole point of the brand is to be minimalist barefoot shoes…but then they don’t come in sizes that actually fit people’s feet. Just charge more money for extra-wide if you don’t want to make them. But it’s just absurd. Stupid f-in shoe company.
This will vary company to company, as I saw you also commented this on my Freet Flex video. Freet are sized slightly different compared to Vivo’s. Vivo’s are a little too long for me in a 46, but I much prefer that over the 45 for the slightly extra width to make them seem more bare-able.
Really good review - thank you! I have the same problem with the excess length on my Primus Lite Bios. But here's the thing - I also have a pair of the Gobi II boots in the same size, which I bought around the same time, and don't have the tripping up problem at all in them! In fact, they seem to fit perfectly, yet when i put the soles together they are exactly the same length! Go figure?!
Thanks for the correction Tyree. Genuinely appreciate being called out when incorrect, wouldn’t learn otherwise! As someone who is quite the stickler on the way the majority of people incorrectly pronounce “vee-brum” I’m surprised I let that one slip 😆 thanks again.
Technically it’s a Latin word so the pronunciation would be correct as per the RUclipsrs pronunciation. You can check it in Google Translate. Yes most people would say it how you do but doesn’t mean it’s incorrect.

@@GuyettsGuide I often have the same issue having to size up for extra width, but Lems Primal 2 accommodate a wide foot in normal size.
maybe try to skip an eyelet and see if that helps
Size according to your foot length and not shoe size

drives me crazy that these companies STILL make shoes too narrow. such a struggle to find shoes that give plenty of room
I agree
Groundies have a wide true to size fit.

They need to make you a custom size, shorter and wider 👣
Haha that’d be a dream come true!
Hi good rewiew!I have the same size foot 27.7 cm.Do you think 45 is it tge right size?thx

Sizing up is the most pisspoor solution to problem that shouldnt exist in the 1st place.
If i wanted clown shoes, I'd go to the clown shoe store.
I hate how wide the first lace is
Poor volume control nearly blew out my ear drums while wearing earbuds. Get rid of the childish scream!
🤡🤡
So, what to buy with wide feet?
Lems Primal 2, no need to size up for extra width.
Try freet everyone says theyre shoes are very wide and good
Dude they are way too long. Have a thumb width at most between top of longest toe and top of the shoe
I’m sorry, this drives me crazy...it’s said “pry-mus”. NOT pre-mus. Primus = “pry-mus”. Sort of like the word primal. 🤷🏽♂️🤭
