- Whats up, I'm here asking the age old question, Should you read Mistborn: The Final Empire in 2022? Just a quick review after doing my read through of the first book of era 1, something to maybe help out new cosmere fans who want to get into the cosmere universe or just pick up a book they haven't read before! Loved this book, Diving deeper and deeper into Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere getting more information about Kelsier and the shards and all the goodies that Stormlight Archives has prepped me for, and it makes me all the more excited for Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages

Sazed is great! Glad you liked him, he's such a cool character.
I think you're really spot on in the criticisms, Brandon was still fine tuning a lot of things about his style and I think you can see a progression of how smoothly his climaxes come together in the books from that era. The end of Elantris from even earlier in his career feels like it has one or two too many twists at the end that don't add that much. Here I think it's a lot smoother, but still a little odd in places, particularly around the final conflict, like you say.
Yeah! I think we had a certain energy level the whole time of the sanderlanche, and we get to the final bit and the energy is just way lower for that moment, or at least the events don't match the energy that has been built up to that point. But every more recent ending climax does feel way improved from these early points

OH I CAN CERTAINLY TALK ABOUT WARBREAKER!! It was my first book in the Cosmere, so I'll have to give it a re-read, but yesss!
And yeah!! I think Era 3 is going to be my fav era probably, major 80's hacker fan, so if that's really what we're getting like Brandon said, then I'm extremely hyped for it

And although Mistborn trilogy is on my TBR, I’m looking forward to Era 3, although idk if I should read Era 2 since western isn’t my fave, but if u want to prove me otherwise the stage is all yours ;)
