Their reaction was forced disney humour but to be fair none of the characters had seen a flying stormtrooper. Everyone brings up clone wars but the only character here who was there (besides chewbacca who fought in 1 battle where there were no jet troopers) was c3po and he had his memory wiped

As far as I know and remember this is the first time we've seen Gyarados fly. He didn't in the anime although I'm not sure about the manga's through as I haven't read them.
The only instance I remember is Pokemon the first movie where Mewtwo flies off with the clone Pokemon, but I don't think that really counts because Mewtwo is using its powers to make them float.

That is bizarre to see. Is there any other visual instance we see Gyarados actually flying? I think he was only given that typing because asian dragons like to "swim" through the air, despite Gyarados never actually flying in the shows or movies.
Gyarados was given the flying type back in the day because: 1) in gen 1 they wanted the dragon type to be rare and mythical 2) Gyarados is based off a myth of a karp that jumps up a waterfall to become a great serpent, so it would have tremendous leaping capabilities. This is why it can learn Bounce, but not Fly

I saw a weird worm on a string wiggling through the air at a distance and just had to investigate. Super happy with the results that Gyrados can finally be true to they're flavor text and design inspiration.
This is actually logical. It is a flying type. It was one of the few Pokémon that could participate in sky battles in Gen 6 Plus it was based on those Chinese dragons.
For those who don't know, the reason Gyarados can fly and has always been a flying type is because he's based on those Japanese festival paper maches, which are either flown as kites or put up on sticks and made to look like they're flying during matsuris.

I wanna hear your take on Legend of Arceus i havent got it yet due of many games recently being in a bad quality, offering less then previous titles and overall buggy.
It honestly looks fun but it's more pokemon GO type of game, battling is minimal and it's mostly catch everything you see even if you don't need. Forget about catching the ones you want only. Major thing that prevents me from buying is how ugly some of new forms are, and the small amount of mons. No one of my favorite is in the game. Also the dlc is practically confirmed so I expect SwSh treatment with that.

Like, Alolan Geodude I get, it‘s magnetic, but Kanto Geodude literally has Dex entries saying how it climbs mountains using its arms and only its arms. Gen 5 had it sitting on the ground hopping. Similarly, Roark‘s Geodude in the Anime didn’t just float around and actually used its arms to propel itself forward during the gym battle. Brock‘s Geodude on the other hand always casually levitated for no reason. What the hell is up with that?

(that's why it's not dragon type, i hope they do a regional form that doesn't abuse its powers staying dragon type)

Uhh no Gyarados has always been able to fly. In multiple Pokedex entries it says so. This is just the first time we actually see it fly.
