Immunity would mean above the law. Above the law is a dictator or king of absolute power. The rule of law would mean nothing.

Are you damaged or something? Immunity has been used by democratic members for worse things in the past, including murder. While republicans as well for simply dealing with lawsuits or from being sued by everyone and anyone for stupid things (also for same for democratic members). So if by that logic, that means every president is a dictator.
So what IS your point exactly? Cause right now it makes no sense. Heck, even state politicians and those in the Senate and House also get immunity.

Because he knows he's guilty. This is basically an admission of guilt by him and his attorneys. They are not really very smart. If this immunity were given, then it would also count for Biden. Who would then be able to just incarcerate him without any trial. The elections will also not be necessary anymore. Biden would just stay in power.

As an older German woman ,I really don´t understand all the questions and fuss there is about DT. DT has openly shown his love or at least his will to rule in a fascist ,extrem right manner, like AH.He even used the phrases of the German dictator. NOW! If I think back ,you have been fighting for our freedom, our liberation and our future,as I understand our history. You ´ve sacrificed a lot of lives by your young and brave soldiers. And I´m extremly thankful for what you did! Therefore my question is,how can it be possible that you have such troubble to define if January 6th was DT attempt to stay in power , if this was legal,if a president can call for an insurection without being held accountable and if DT,in this case, is above the law. You must have lost some sort of making clear, logical and democracy saving decisions. It´s so sad, that you helped us installing a democracy ,and rebuild our country, allthough we committed unbearable war crimes and crimes against humanity, but you don´t find the courage or whatever is needed to fight this wannabe dictator.

The founders of my nation delcared all American Citizen were Kings created equal but seprate from governing, thus why I hold the power to abolish tyanny and create government as do all of my American Citizen Brethen. We are the Sovernity of this nation, and why we are the first middle and last check and balance. Learn your history before you speak I feel you no not what you say. We are Kings, thats were our creed and saying come from A KING CAN NOT KNEEL LESS HE GIVES UP HIS SOVERITY. Thus I stand for my flag, i only kneel when i pray! Liberity to death i shall never take a Knee! this is where we come from who we are. We cased off our old ties of cultrue race and dawned the mantal of being created equal as Kings of America, the seprated from governing means we will not make any laws, enforce any laws, nor judge any laws, and bestow by consent all our kingly powers to the republic save for 2 and hold our rights. Those powers are abolishment and creation. in return we decree every king gets a vote for their representive.
The reason of this is the sepration of powers, you can't put a king in any branch without that branch forcing the other 2 to kneel to it. So Our kings are us the citizens outside the government seprated, so that we can have freedom liberity and justice for all. Thats the frame work that built our consitutin and all the law,
      including our Creed.
Why did we Declare ourselves and ordaine every American a KIng? Simple were wanted a fight, and how better to insult Prince John sitting as steward on Richards thrown. Our forefathers slapped him across his face with our Declaration of Indpendance.

I'm in Australia and each state has Corruption and Crime Commission which holds public servants accountable. That does not exclude the PM. However, getting them prosecuted is tough and it annoys me that they're not under rigorous scrutiny. For example, you must be an Australian citizen to run for election and also to vote. The elected pollies who weren't fought instant dismissal and were allowed to rectify it by obtaining immediate citizenship. As a public servant in the lower ranks. I'd lose my job on the spot - not because I wasn't a citizen but because I was dishonest. You must declare your citizenship status in order to become a public servant. There's no way these politicians can pretend they didn't know and for that, they should pay dearly by losing the high paid position they lied their way into.

Both Colorado and Maine determined that Trump isn't via the clause of the 14th amendment about insurrections. States do this all the time in that you can't run for President if you're not at least 35 years of age. If your argument stood then states wouldn't be allowed to enforce the age requirement either. There is no "due process" for the age requirement, nor the natural born citizen clause. It's somewhat soft in defining the clause for the insurrection bit. It'll be interesting seeing how the supreme court handles this. As it is the two states that determined he wasn't eligible were within their jurisdiction to do so.
