Here are mine: 1. Kunlavut's win 2. Seo Seung Jae winning 2 gold medals 3. Rahayu & Ramadhanti reaching the final 4. Prannoy winning his first medal 5. Okuhara regaining form
It was definitely rude and disrespectful of the audience to boo at Kodai and Kunlavut. Of course, it was boring but they were playing to win and that was just part of the strategy. These two played a similar long match in Malaysia Open and there was no booing. It goes to show something.
I think the clears between Kunlavut and Kodai was a result of both players having incredible defense. They knew that smash and attack would only drain their energy levels especially when they are already tired from their previous matches. All the fans knew that it would be a tough and long physical battle between Kunlavut and Kodai. For me, the match was a battle of wits, patience and perseverance, who can stick to their game plan and use their resources wisely eg. their strength and stamina to their advantage and win the game. For me, that still makes it an entertaining final. The boos were hard to watch and unnecessary. It's disrespectful to the players but also to the fans that really appreciate these aspects of the game.
i didnt find it boring at all to see vitidsarn and naraoka repeatedly clearing against each other. those kinds of direct confrontations of will are thrilling. this was an extremely physical match where naraoka lost his legs about halfway through and vitidsarn's fitness and reserves allowed him to dominate to the finish. it's mental to boo because you want players to play the way you want them to play instead of the way that's right for them to play. thanks for the discussion-- you hit all the main points
An Se Young doesn't feel comfortable speaking English, but she does understand English quite well. (like so many other Asian shuttlers who can understand what's been asked, but cannot express what they want to say having limited vocab) It will be so great to see her on this channel!
I love the jokes about Anders and An Seyoung😂 i know it's just a joke so don't worry too much Anders hahaha but i'll be waiting for her to come to podcast❤
Disgusting behaviour from the crowd booing. I thought the same as Anders, they have absolutely no idea how difficult that game was physically for the 2 men. I actually thought the umpire was shite as well when he told Kodai ‘you must try your best’. As if he wasn’t trying his hardest in a world championship final Jesus.
Get ASY on! Love Hans Christian’s commentary and personality. Also watched him on BWF Weekly. Good result for Anders too! Would have loved Prannoy to win it all! Such a good podcast! I look forward to every episode. Keep it up guys @thebadmintonexperience ❤
Kunlavt, his biggest strengths seem to be great stamina and great defence. Other players are equally good with techniques, attack etc. But this is what I think made the biggest difference. I honestly think Prannoy ran out of steam towards the end with Kunlavut returning all his attacks
37:53 Speaking about this, reminds me that actually there's been a running joke among Indonesian netizen on twitter, that every tournament is just Viktor looking for his runner up bcs he has like 90% chance to be the winner 😂 So yeah, apparently everytime Viktor is out of the tournament, it'll always be hard to predict who's gonna win bcs all of the top MS players are pretty equally good p.s. Happy retirement Hans! Please tell us everything about it on the next episode 😆
Hi Anders and Hans-Kristian. Big congrats to you Anders, the way you played was amazing. I was very disappointed that you couldn't make it to the final but I guess it is already very positive after your injuries
1. Sideways drift played s big part and there was also a slight advantage on playing on on one side of the court as well. 2. In the end, youth and stamina won over experience and strategy.
I was in the audience at the WC during the semi-final and final, the atmosphere was amazing! Agree with the booing comments, it was a bit intrusive and not done in the spirit of the occasion. Congrats to Anders and all the medalists!
24:55 - 25:00 Nope. They are actually one of the favourites to win the title, due to their great performance since the Australian Open, in which they defeated strong pairs like Lee & Wang, Hoki & Kobayashi and Alfian & Ardianto on the way. The moment the other favourites are out (i.e. Lee & Wang, Hoki & Kobayashi, Rankireddy & Shetty), I knew that they are going to win the title, more so after their victory in the semifinals against defending champions Chia & Soh, which was even in straight games.
I have been waiting for this. Great win for Kunlavut! What do you guys think about the Japanese style of badminton in Men's singles? I think it is very effective and it looks very hard on the body, but boring to watch on tv. Momota is an exception because he has personal flair.
Nice episode, thanks guys! Unlucky Anders, think you would have won the match if you had put that first game to bed against Kodai, but credit to him for the amazing comeback. I would have fancied your chances in the final against Vitidsarn, he looked fatigued at times, but then again, so did Kodai, maybe you drained him too much in the semi final 😂
As Indonesian the most shock is in men single when VA defeated in his ground soil. Number 2 is when Apri / Fadia reach the final in women double, Number 3 is when Astrup / Rasmussen go to final, Number 4 when number 1 mixed double defeat by the koreans
Great show by amazing champions. Thank you for intersecting views from players like you. Get ASY on the show please. That would be awesome. Can you play exhibition match with ASY?
Talking about moving denmark open to royal arena makes sense, but i dont think it would work tbh. The arena is great, but the space around the venue is imo to small! Making the players area, warm up courts ect was a real tight fit! The new place in Odense allows so much more outside the FOP. Best moment from the WC was meeting awesome ppl, chitchatting with both players and volunteers!
Hey guys, will you be making another video soon? I’m wondering whether you can give some insight into why so many players withdrew from the Demark Open. Was there some sort of calculation being made (especially by top-ranked players) to avoid injury while having enough points to qualify for the Olympics?
Thanks for making up this time by pouring, well-justified encomiums on my favourite Indian player, HS Prannoy. You had glossed him over last time while talking about Viktor’s match-up with C Popov who was roundly thrashed. Frankly, I think the Popovs are both hyped. Our Priyanshu Rajawat has always beaten Christo. Again when you’re referring to Kunlavat, Li Shi Feng & Naraoka as batchmates, pl add the equally accomplished Lakshya along with them. While they hey played the juniors together, Laksh was second to Kunlavat & ahead of Kodai & Li Shi Feng. For your info, badminton has got a boost in India when a 24-court centre with a provision for 4000 spectators was inaugurated at a small place called Guwahati. Badminton is today India’s 2nd most popular sport after cricket. With a first -time gold in javelin at the World Athletic Championships followed by a silver (4 out of 8 quarter finalists were Indian) at the World Cup Chess & a spate of medals of all hues in world wrestling & archery, the Indians are coming strongly. So, watch out for Laksh at the China Open for we’re all in a buoyant mood. Finally, a big congrats for making full use of Ginting’s absence in earning a bronze. 👍👍
@TheBadmintonExperience Nice to see the love for all the players, however, I’m somewhat disappointed that I think you failed to mention Chae Yoo-Jung completely. She’s stepped up a lot too in this past year.
Standout performance for me seo winning two gold, prannoy beating axelsen, both kim/anders & rahayu/ramadhanti reaching final, kinlavut's gold & okuhara's wins. Also i must mention crowd booing was really annoying to watch as a viewer for small things crowd used to boo.
Guys there is a point I would like to raise. First congarts to the pair Astrup/Rasmussen for their incredible silver medal. I should say that I hate the bad habit of Kim Astrup to serve when he sees that his opponent is not ready just to put some pressure on the umpire... What do you think about it??
"Hi": As a Fan of the Sound of feather SUTTLE being hit, 'Why Can't' the World Governing Body(s) just bring in a rule 'Silence', Zero Tolarance' on making 'Noise', ('During') the 'Rally's' & for the Audience to go Crazy ('Between') the To create the unbelievable atmosphere for the Home nations for ALL Event(s) !?

Om Hans legit shipping Anders and ASY 😂 maybe you can check Lee Young Dae's Wonderplay that featured Alfian and Ardianto. They managed to bridge the language barrier quite okay I guess
Try getting more asian players on tbc, if necessary maybe bring a translator too? idk if thats gonna work with you guys but i just think its gonna be epic!❤
Congrats Anders for a great performance at the WC . Seems every guest you had on the show seems to like you too much and end up losing to you so maybe you should have Kunlavut on. 👍
Don’t know if he talked the truth but I read Kodai apparently said to the Japanese media before the tournament that his right knee wasn’t good and also that he twisted his left ankle against you Christian. Perhaps he couldn’t anything else on Sunday.
That doesn't make any sense anders it's a game when a player plays on bedminton court he or she always carry their style and way of playing when it comes to represent their own country calling HS Pronnay villan and carrying nagitive thought about other player doesn't make any sense show the sportsmanship anders a player is player however he takes on other player and whatever perception he can think about to the other player on court its their choice. I hope it makes sense.😊
Lakshya got a tougher draw than prannoy in WC. He has to beat antonsen, loh kean yew and axelsen. Probably semis & final will be easier than initial rounds of china open😂
What’s your favorite moment from the World Championships??🏸👏
When Danish crowds started booing when opponents were introduced by the umpire before the start of the match.
Okuhara's comeback!

I'm Thai and remembered well that coach told KV on the 2nd set "We are here to work" in response to the boo from from crowded.
I think Hans would be well suited as BWF commentator together with Steen and Gill.😁😁😁
Yeah! No offense to other commentators, but you can definetly feel huge difference between the level of Steen/Gill and the rest.
Definitely better than one particular commentator that we all know 👀 the one who can't stop talking and is pretty inaccurate
if he become a commentator, they can do The Badminton Experience f2f!
Gill and steen are different type of commentator. I personally enjoy the carefree and casual style from Anders and Hans 😊
Yeah, he has good observation and memory

I agree with you
seos draw in XD is literally as hard as it can get, sapsiree, watanabe and then zheng is as hard a run it can get, what a ln impressive win
Theyvreally went through all former world champions, hell of a run

Fun fact about men's singles
Viditsarn sent 2 Indians out
Antonsen sent 2 malaysians out
Wang T.W sent two chinese out
and Vitidsarn sent 2 Brazillian out.
Kunlavt, his biggest strengths seem to be great stamina and great defence. Other players are equally good with techniques, attack etc. But this is what I think made the biggest difference. I honestly think Prannoy ran out of steam towards the end with Kunlavut returning all his attacks

Always Rooting for "AA" , This time AA= Anders❤An Se.
Any ideas on what Marin told An Se Yong after the game ended? She did not seem very graceful in defeat and did not congratulate her opponent...
Yeah I'd like to know as well. It looked like she was scolding An Se Young for going to her coach first after winning when Marin does the same
Great to see you guys back!
