  • A few friends and myself pulled 24 hours trackside around the North Jersey and Hudson River area. Pleas enjoy the multitude of trains from all models and wearing multiple different schemes.
We start our morning off Early, trackside in Teaneck along the Riverline. The first train we see is empty ethanol train K695 heading back west with a trio of SD40's for power.

    CP SD40-2 #3066
    CP SD40-2 #5749
Next was CSX Q010. 2 Gevos lead the UPS train south on its last few miles.
    CSX ES44AH #3245
    CSX ES44AH #3037
After Q010 cleared up, another stack train, Q008 came south behind him.
    CSX C40-8 #7591
    CSX CW40-8 #7786
    CSX ES44AH #964
The two best trains of the morning were the last 2 that we saw. CSX K138 had a very colorful lashup, and Q434 had a very photogenic lashup. They pass each other on the main, and once K138 clears up at CP 10, Q434 gets the signal to head north.

    CSX CW44AC #165
    CSX SD70AC #4702
    CSX GP38-2S #4441
The middle of the day, we turned to NJ Transit's Main and Bergen lines to entertain us. We watch as a few Turbo charged 645 powered trains scream up and down the line moving people to where they needed to be.
Towards the late afternoon, we picked up shop and moved over to the Hudson river, so that we could shoot both CSX and the Metro North and Amtrak rush hour. Upon arriving to Bear Mountain, another empty CSX ethanol train was calling signals heading north. We watch as he flies by Bear Mountain State Park with 2 CSX GE's.

    CSX AC6000CW #658
We then hustled over to Breakneck to watch the evening rush. We get a short clip of the Loram rail grinder slowly crawling up the River upon arrival. And then the Rush was on. We changed locations about half way through, and head to Manitou to finish off the Rush.
Hope you enjoyed, and as always, stay tuned for more.
