    I salute you guys, i was taken aback when i saw prices for those, and honestly, they are relatively easy to make if you have little woodwork skills.

I don't have problem with height since i am short (arround 5'8) but i am just curious what is the max height of person to sleep comfortably on bed?

    • @alasdaircox
      @alasdaircox  3 года назад

      Hi Russell. Sorry for the late reply just been so busy at work. Errrr tbh I don't remember the thickness I used 😕 I do remember thinking it was a bit too thin, especially when I put the holes in it to make it lighter, but it worked very well 🙂 not that that helps answer your question 😐 sorry but I'd be guessing if I gave you a number. Maybe 12mm 🤔

    Hey, great job! I'am going to do the same. Do You remember the thick of the plywood you use?

    • @alasdaircox
      @alasdaircox  3 года назад +1

      I'm really sorry but I'd be lying if I said I did remember. 🤥 I do remember thinking it wasn't thick enough but it did the job as it was supported by the posts at the bottom or by the back seats. Also, as a added note, I removed the back seats and put in an extra set of supported legs. I did this as we wanted the extra room for clothes etc rather than the back seats which we didn't need whilst travelling for 2 months around Europe.

      Hi. Greetings from Scotland. Love Sweden. Fantastic country 😊
      Yes I'm sure it does as the Peugeot tepee, in the video, has the same specs as the Berlingo. 🙂

      @@alasdaircox Thank you for answering. Got to get me some materials now, also im going to sew the cushions myself, what fabric would you recommend? :)

    • @alasdaircox
      @alasdaircox  4 года назад +1

      We went for a hard wearing upholstery fabric. So quite thick and stiff so it didn't move too much when sitting on. We got the foam cut to size online so we had two large sections... A third large section was itself cut into three smaller pieces to fit the seats you can see us sitting on. Hope that makes sense 🤔😀

      So do I now 🙄😆 at the time it was very much a... Let's go for it. I do remember it cost about 100 pounds for all the wood, plus cushions, and the DIY shop cut everything to size for me. So I basically just had to piece it altogether. I also built an extra support as I removed the back seats to create more room for storage. Not much help I know. I did this just as a little bit of fun. Plans are in the other comments. Hope that's of some help.
