  • Spur gears are the most simple type of gears. Spur gears only create tangential and radial loads without any thrust load. Thrust loads (aka axial loads) are not desirable as not all bearings can handle thrust loads.
    Tangentail component is usually determined first based on power and rpm of the gear and then based on pressure angle, the radial and overall force can be determined.

    Why are the two torques in the same direction ,

      Which gear are you referring to?

      I mean why is tb3 and tb2 the same

      Those are the torques the shafts are acting in their corresponding gear. The equilibrium of moment on each gear determines the direction of reaction torque. The shaft torque resists the torque generated by the tangential component on the gear.

      Doctor Sanei if we have double stage helical gears , speed reducer
      If gear 23 have tangential force = 911 N
      Should the gear 45 have the same value of tangential force? Same as with diameters, lewis equation and AGMA

    Is it that idler gear always has zero net torque acting on it for simple gear train?

    • @engineeringvision
      @engineeringvision  Год назад +1

      If it sits on an idler shaft, idler shaft Carrie’s no torque, it is not a driver that takes the power from the engine and not the out pit shaft that takes the load
