  • The gorgeous 2-tonne bell at Holy Trinity Southport. Lovely to ring and very satisfying to handle but I was less keen on the access to the ringing chamber! Beautiful church too, sorry I wasn't able to get a picture of the outside.

    OMG! When the person filming looks up when them bell in being ring down you can see the bells in the gap in the hatch!

      Ringer Jason yes there was a gap which is why I pointed it up. How you can see it on here though I have no idea!!

      It was not long after Lent and presumably someone hadn't taken it off!

    wow you found the bell half muffled yes your right this means that the bell was rung for lent and someone wanted to ring half muffled without taking the muffle off

    the bells at st michael wilmington are interesting as the treble is at the top and the tenor is rung from the ground
