Thank you so very much. Placing markers on each side of center stitch makes pattern much clearer to understand and helps keep center stitch even down the shawl.
Yayyy!!! This was so awesome! I found the pattern but went looking for a video and found yours! Thanks so much for posting it! Helps me to understand the directions if I can see it done first! Thanks for taking the time, showing, and explaining it all! Can’t wait to bust it out! 🙌🏼👏🏻🫶🏻🙏🏼❤️PS. I did add a marker to the front RS cause it was Garter and I got mixed up. So that helped. I also like the two markers in the middle too! So thanks for adding that in! 👌🏼🙌🏼👏🏻
@@katrinascreationscrafting well, I picked a Sugarwheel(?)from Hobby Lobby. Its variegated grey to black, worsted weight(but a tiny bit thinner than reg) anyway I’m sorta almost half way through and I think I’ll probably run out? It was 355yrds. But I thought I’d try to see just how far it’d go?🤷🏽♀️ I love the little chart thing and checking off each row, wayyyy better than counting!!! Hahaha! I think smaller yarn would probably be prettier but 🤷🏽♀️it’s for my aunt and she’s in CA and it’s never that cold anyway. 😅 So open and airy is what I wanted! Thanks again for all your help! This is only my 3rd shawl, but I really enjoy the pattern, it’s super easy!!🙌🏼
Thank you! I had attempted that pattern several times and it never worked: the center stitch didn’t remain constant and I’d get, like, 20 stitches on one side of center and 10 on the other. Adding the second stitch marker changed everything. It’s working now!
Do you prefer Metal or wood or plastic knitting needles also How many balls of sheepjie whirl yarn do you need and what needle size and needle length do you need to make the Glacia Shawl pattern by Tammy Canavan-Soldaat also Can you use size 3 needles in 24 length cord or dose the cord need to be longer or can I start out with 24 and move up later to a bigger length with needed or should I just buy bigger length needles and return what I already bought
Hi, I prefer metal needles. Based on the pattern, you will only need 1 ball of the Sheepjie yarn. You will need a 3 mm needle which is a 2.5 US. A 24 inch should work, but the next length up might be a little easier to work with. Hope that helps. It looks like a really pretty shawl.
I'm confused! My pattern doesn't say to YO on Row 2. It says "k1, ktbl, k1, slm, ktbl, k1". Somehow that increases 2 stitches? I see that you're doing a YO where it says ktbl....
After casting on 3 stitches, Row 1 and 3 have YO, row 2 does not. I don't do any yo on Row 2 in the video. The increases are on the odd numbered rows. Did you maybe get it mixed up with Row 1 or 3? Hope that helps
@@katrinascreationscrafting LOL! My LYS had printed out the pattern, and Row 1 is cut off at the bottom of the page!!! Which I might have realized if I hadn't decided that 11:30 pm was a good time to cast on a project.... 😅
@@coloharpare LOL I'm glad it got figured out. My husband and I and two friends were playing and singing music at church when we realized (while we were in front of everyone) that the copier had cut off the entire last line. Ooops
Oops, I went back and looked at the video. The pattern called for fingering weight, but I actually made it with DK. Somehow, I got it all turned around and said that fingering was a 3 weight. Thanks for catching it.

I'm so glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
I've had the pattern and yarn. I will be making this next. Thanks for the tutorial.
You’re welcome 😊I'd love to see a picture when you make it.
Wow I’m glad I found this video . I was having such an issue staying centered,
I'm so glad it was helpful.
Omg thank you! I thought the pattern was simple enough to follow, but this video just helps a bit more!💜💜
Glad it helped It is a pretty shawl to make.
I love your hair. It looks great on you.
Thank you so much
Thank you for explaining the process 😊
Glad it was helpful!

In the mesh section, are we knitting in the front look of the yo?
Thank you! For some reason that 2nd marker made all the difference for me.
It helped me out, too. I kept losing my place.
This was very helpful seeing you work through where I got stuck 🙂
Glad I could help!

I'm so glad it was helpful! I had a similar problem with the Find Your Fade shawl a few years ago.
Nevermind. I realized I yo by mistake in the (WS) mesh section...lol
I have knitted this :-).
What color(s) did you make yours?
Thank you for your help. I found the pattern difficult to read the way that it was written.
What length circulars are you using?
I think they were around 32".
Thank you for your quick response! 🧶

What length are the circulars that the pattern calls for?
The pattern actually doesn't say...which is weird. But, I think I used 32" circulars.
How much more yardage for worsted weight yarn?
I'm guessing, but I would double the amount of yarn. So, it would be 800-900 yards. I would also up the needle size to a US 6 or 7. Hope that helps.
I think it’s so important to note that the pattern begins at the top center of the shawl and not the bottom point.
Defininitely.

Fingering is not 3 weight. Dk is 3 weight. You could try holding the fingering double if one was set on using fingering.
