Another fantastic video my friend!! THANK YOU for sharing this stuff. For those of us who can't get trackside very often, I for one enjoy your work. PLEASE keep it coming!!!
The GP20C ECO locomotives are the coming thing for CP. I watched CP 2222 for 3 hours on May 2, switching in Alyth Yard. CP 2232 was also there and joined a road consist later to Red Deer. Thanks for a nice video.
You are most welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. I am not sure whether the crews will appreciate the GP20Cs. I have heard that they are slower accelerating and braking than the GP38s.
This settles the mystery of these units which I always thought what would happen when an SD60M & a yard goat made out. First time I saw a picture of one I was like what the? So thanks for settling this mystery once and for all.
GP20ECo is the repowered version of EMD GP9U only. GP9U uses a 16N-567C/D engine to produce 2000 HP. The same HP is caused to produce through a Fuel-Efficient EMD 710 engine. A V-8 version of EMD 710 can produce the same 2000 HP power..
All of CP's GP38AC's GP38-2's have been overhauled and are now running with these GP20C-ECO's 3000 - 3140 have been overhauled 4400 - 4459 have been overhauled as well
I don't know why CP is scrapping their SD40-2s and then turning around and using everyone else's locomotives because they are short. That makes no sense to me.
Ow ! Nice S2M honks ! These honks are there in Indian EMD 710 WDP/G-4 locomotives as well..

Glad to be of assistance!
Nice shot
Ah yes, the sweet sound of the Nathan M3H
The Horn Is Amazing

These locos sound literally like EGM-621 locomotives, due to same prime mover..
0:15 to 0:28 - Nice JET ENGINE intro of EMD 8N-710G3A-T3...
Great video! Thanks.
Is anybody making these as a kit?
Thank you. I ma not aware of any models of GP20Cs yet.
Thanks. I expect that these models will be produced sometime in the future.

+Shahid Bhinder Thanks for the update.
Locomotive :- GP20CECo (Ex- GP9)
Prime Mover :- EMD 8N-710G3A (Ex- EMD 16N-567C)
645 or 710 prime mover?
8-710.
I remember the first time I heard one of those very dischordant Half Step Down Nathan K3Ls which play D, F, A. It was ear piercingly awful.
Alot of fuel spewing out the exhaust. Pretty well worse then most the SD40-2's I see!
There going to be garbage, its not the real EMD's anymore lol
May be the settings need to be tuned better especially at speed.
Yeah, the injectors could be shot already to haha! You never know, it could be the stupid computers as well.

Quite possible - but I guess software on essentially a new locomotive design albeit made from reconditioned parts
Yup!
