I was about to write this post. But YES, EXACTLY! That's probably why she didn't choose him. It was probably hard to remember during the memorial though. It was very much an emotional day for everyone. But still, she was on the "This Is It" documentary in the background vocals and in a duet with Michael. Maybe Usher didn't watch it. I imagine it would have been hard for him. Still, I think Judith should have chosen him, but she knew what she was doing.
Gosh I miss MJ, terribly bad. I met MJ in the Thousand Oaks mall in Cali in the 90's. He was with Frank and 5 big other guys who were his bodyguards. He had a disguise, but I knew exactly the way he walked; it was very "unique" I was so excited and asked MJ if I could give him a hug, he said "sure" and he was so nice and did not hesitate. Love MJ 4 ever.
Judith Hill is indeed a wonderful and terrific singer. I agree, that Michael choice her as a lead background and duet partner in his "This is It" tour because she is so good.. I love Judith Hill. Mark

Actually she had an incredible amount of record labels calling her up after she sang at his memorial but she decided not to take any of the offers because she felt that it was all in bad taste by gaining fame through his death. So she decided to go on The Voice to prove to herself that she could make it on her own. I personally thing that is very ethical thing to do and requires a lot of confidence in which she rightfully has.

Out of all the performances at his funeral this one stands out in my mind strong 10years later..This should have Catapoulted Judith Hill to stardom....and PS the very nexy year I ended up booking a show with Brooke Shields and we talked about this moment..wow full circle moments.

When she sang here, her voice sounds subdued in line with the song. When she sings at The Voice, she lets it all out and she is a loud belter. I like the subdued-style better.
I agree with you 100%. I think she is very talented and she deserves this opportunity. For people to say she's "overqualified" because she sang background for MJ is unfair. So many people out here have sang background (Melinda Dolittle, Sheryl Crow, Kelly Price, etc) for some huge artists but they still had to prove themselves standing out front on their own. This is her chance to stand out front. Let her have her time!

i think by doing the voice, she gets power of having fans behind her. yes, she has had exposure, but millions watch the voice, and she will be on tv every week for months--- this gives her the power to choose how she wants to make her album-- whereas if she just signed any deal, the studio will push her to do it their way....which is probably why she hadn't signed any deals. those startup record contracts pretty much take everything but ur soul.
