After repeated viewings, it looks like the cop realized he needed to reload but was too tied up trying to unclip that handgun leash from his bike at first to reload. Then when he finally got unclipped from the bike, a dude was bailing out of the car already, so he just released the slide to make it look like the gun was still loaded and hoped that his backup was close enough behind him with loaded guns if he had his bluff called... That handgun leash seems like a really mixed bag honestly. So it would be great for any physical confrontation or situation where someone was trying to grab or steal his gun, but also seems like it could really slow down the cop when seconds count as well as even get in the way. Either way, badass video. Can you even imagine how much of a legal clusterfuck it would be if this was a cop in the United States Vs Africa? Don Ramon He wouldn’t be able to pull this off in the states without getting in trouble. No u.s cops are allowed to fire at a fleeing vehicle. They’re only allowed to chase after it. The only times that a cop can fire their weapons is when the suspects poses a threat to the officer. Like trying to use their vehicle to run a cop over, lunges or wields a knife at an officer, tries to steal a gun out of a cops holster or points a gun at an officer. The firing of a gun from a cop has to be justifiable and with probable cause. Just like U.S cops are not allowed to fire their guns at a protesters, they can only try to get the protesting crowd to disperse by using tear gas, paintball guns and any non lethal methods of attempting to get the crowd to disperse. The cops can also arrest any violent protesters but not arrest peaceful protesters.
