Just like everyone else, im between this and the be100 deluxe. I think ill go for the SSv2 for simplicity. I want to plug in and play 80s hair metal until my heart is content. It sounds smoother as well to me.

I don’t know how I missed this video for 2 months! Better late than never…. I saw your comments on how you tried out a BE DLX before settling on the SS100V2. Do you mind comparing the distortion channels? I have the SS and am wondering if it would be redundant to get the BE DLX synergy module.

Hey man! The SS is smoother out of the two and has a simpler design, but the BE dlx offers a ton of variety with all of the available options. Both have that classic Friedman / Marshall sound. I think they are similar enough since they cover the same territory, so I probably would stick with one or the other. You could find a place that has a good return policy, so you can check out the module and return it if you think it's too similar

@@sir.shreddington Thanks, man! Hey, one more thing. Do you use a boost pedal for the SS? If so, which is your favorite?

Lately I’ve been favoring an SD-1, and it’s waza counter part. It’s a classic for a reason!

    I'm currently faced with the purchase decision - BE-100 DLX or SS-100 V2 🤔

Hey Mike! I was too, and you can see which one I went with. I tried the BE delux at Motor City Guitar, then Marty called Dave and I had a chance to speak with him about the differences. Straight from Dave’s mouth: the SS100 is smoother but still can get aggressive. That’s when I put in my order for the SS100. I also like simplicity and a crystal clear clean channel 👍

can you get a good plexi sound with this SS V2 amp? i've heard an small box 50 in person and loved it.

It can get really close, like super close, but if you really only care about a plexi sound I think there are other amps in the line that are a bit cheaper. If you want a high gain amp that can also get in plexi territory, so a more modern and versatile amp, then the SS is a great choice.

@@sir.shreddington yeah it would be nice to have both on a sigle amp. best of both worlds. and your tune sounds awesome.. my kinda style anyways. 70's ..80's and like modern too. thinking of getting an SS. this is why i like to listen to demo's to convince me. like to make the right choice cause these amps pretty pricey.

@able1115 Thanks man! In context, I demoed a BE-delux and I'm super happy I went with the SS. It has a pristine clean channel and between the SS and SS+ channels you can get everything from plexi to super hot rod gain. It doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the BED, but it doesn't need it. Simplicity ftw.
