I find it funny in the Uk there’s a video of a student waking up Palestinian protesters on a campus by playing rule Britannia extremely loudly. And the person who got up to confront him was literally a person in their 30s who clearly wasn’t a student.

There's a way to do this without looking callous. You add a flag to the flagpole, not replace one with the other. That's stupid and disrespectful to the host nation. You can have more than one flag on the pole, it's not that hard.

As a Muslim, despite being a Pro-Palestine supporter (Not Hamas) , I do not respect the fact that they raise a Palestinian flag instead of an American flag. No foreign flag should be raised in another country over the country's flag. This simple etiquette applies to all countries.

Brother, now this is a very good statement and verse to mention, before I break this down, I’d like to mention that the Quran is similar to that of a puzzle and the way you interpret it can vary the meaning, you cannot take a verse at face value, you must read the entire book and you have to connect it with other verses.
Firstly, let me present the verse you mention; “Fight those who do not believe in Allah (God) and the Last Day (referring to Day of Judgement), nor comply with what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, nor embrace the religion of truth from among those who were given the Scripture, until they pay the tax, willingly submitting, fully humbled.”
I will come back to this in a moment, but I will present another verse 22:39;
“Permission ˹to fight back˺ is ˹hereby˺ granted to those being fought, for they have been wronged. And Allah is truly Most Capable of helping them prevail.” God essentially states that you may only have the permission to fight upon being attacked.
Moving to the verse following it; it states: ˹They are those who have been expelled from their homes for no reason other than proclaiming: “Our Lord is Allah.” Had Allah not repelled ˹the aggression of˺ some people by means of others, destruction would have surely claimed monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which Allah’s Name is often mentioned. Allah will certainly help those who stand up for Him. Allah is truly All-Powerful, Almighty.
God is basically stating that; the permission to fight back applies to those who’ve been expelled from their homes for no other reason than believing in God, meaning to defend religion at all costs. Notice how it mentions monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques.
Back to your verse which you brought up;

8. Do not wish for an encounter with the enemy; pray to God to grant you security; but when you [are forced to] encounter them, exercise patience.
9. No one may punish with fire except the Lord of Fire.
10. Accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and to not do wrong even if they commit evil.

'Those' refers to the people that God mentioned in the verse I mentioned earlier whom would kick people out of their houses and kill them simply for believing in God and not comply with the war laws that God has outlined.
