Hi Leann, I hope you have an amazing blessed day. I didn’t care for the one size mascara that I got my box. It was horrible to me. I am so the same way I overthink everything.. I didn’t date for like 15 years and then finally somebody just walked into my life that I’ve known for 25 years that I’ve liked for 25 years and now we have a good relationship and I like it.
I am 63 and feel like maybe 40 lol which is funny because my daughter is 40. Since the pandemic, I feel like I have aged from anxiety. I broke up with someone 6 years ago and have not dated. I was going to start looking and I fell and fractured my back. That was two months ago. Since I could not leave the house nor exercise, I have gained weight. Now I dont feel like dating. I have two fur babies that I can talk to lol.

I can so relate. I look about 8-10 years older than my actual age. I just turned 54. I went into menopause at 40 and lost 120 pounds 8 years ago. I’ve gained 10 pounds back this last month due to stress. My skin took a toll. But I’m grateful to be here and I know it’s more important to be pretty on the inside. I think once you get to a person who you can care about, they can become attractive… oh you just said that lol

I am so ready for the colder weather too! I hate sweating. I have become very aware of my aging face over the past year or so too. In some ways it's frustrating, but in other ways I don't care at all. It's a weird thing. LOL Why would it be bad for it to make you feel good for someone to look at you?! Who doesn't feel good if someone looks at them...as long as they aren't being creepy about it? You can't make yourself be attracted to someone if you're just not. You never know though if you will end up finding someone attractive, once you meet them and get to see their personality in person. I don't think there's any harm in trying that! This look is soooo pretty! I LOVE a green eye look like this! I love the lip color too. Back to what you were talking about though, I totally get the not feeling your age. I also feel like I'm in my early 30s, not 46. Not that I think that is old at all or anything. If you have always been attracted to younger guys, it would be hard to suddenly switch to guys your age or older. However, you truly never know who you might meet, and a guy your age or older may absolutely be the perfect partner for you, so I say...take the chance, go on the dates, and see what happens. Leanne your topic today really hit home. I think what you are feeling and experiencing is VERY common amongst women in their late 40s to early 60s.

I don’t like my husband very much, not even as a friend. I stopped respecting him years ago because he told me so many lies some time ago that affected our lives majorly. He never apologised or took accountability.
That took all my money to bale us out of the situation and i’ve never been able to replenish that money and more. So i couldn’t afford to divorce and start out by myself. Also had a daughter with learning disabilities that became more apparent as she got older in the education system.
It needed both our incomes to care and tackle the education authorities to provide the additional assistance necessary.
He loves our daughter unconditionally and does what he can. He isn’t capable of much and he is not very intelligent.
So i’m stuck in a loveless marriage. 29 years of which 13 years I’ve been sleeping by myself.
I’m extremely lonely and feel I deserve love too. But I won’t break my marriage vows. I won’t upset my daughter. And also think no man would want a 55 year old over weight Black woman. Young, shiny, slim and non Black are the desired women of today’s society.
Unfortunately, I’ve accepted I will never have a loved and loving partner.
You are in a position where you can still find your love. There is nothing wrong or weird in being attractive to younger men. Everybody has preferences. As long as it’s a proper preference rather than what society says will elevate you.
There are lots of men who are attracted to older women and are confident in their preference.
The last thing women in our age group need, is a man who believes his public image is everything. That is an insecure man who will drop you when something or someone who fits the current trend comes along.

I'm the same way as far as, I don't have an exact type, and that attraction can grow (or diminish) based on personality for me. I have found that for me, there needs to be at least a small level of physical attraction for that to work.
Just based on what I would do personally, if you aren't attracted to someone at all, then I feel like it wouldn't be fair to them but also to yourself. I can also very much relate to the aspect of knowing it's not the worst thing to be alone, but not really wanting to be though. I'm there with you on that one. Don’t settle, it will not work in the long run and is not fair to you or the other person, relationships can be challenging at times with our partners that we are in love with, it would be much worse with someone that you settle for. That guy that you had a drink with was jerk for not walking you to your car, good riddance. I’m going to be 69 in October and that’s shocking to me, I don’t feel that old, age or getting older has never bothered me but almost 70?! Wow, where has the time gone. Hi Leann. I really love this look on you. Listen I'm home all day every day. I do not even want to talk to men, at least around here!!! Lol. I would rather surround myself with four legged creatures (cats, dogs, horses, lizzards, ect...) I never wanted to get married but wanted tons of children. There are people who are so much more happy being married. I'm just not one of them. If I could wave a magical wand I would send the man of your dreams over and some cold with a shit ton of snow. Here are my thoughts and advice since you asked. First off, you are gorgeous and look young for your age, but I think I look young for my age as well so I'm probably biased. lol Second, don't settle and if you aren't attracted to someone don't waste their time. Be patient until you find someone who has a good profile AND who you are attracted to but also find someone who is your best friend and can make you laugh. There is more to life than just romance IMO. I have always been attracted to younger men, although my husband is 3 years older than I am. You and I are similar. I still think I'm in my 30's as well. I think we are "young souls" and that's OK. Just keep on the app and find those who have similar interests as you and can make you laugh. That to me is a true companion. ❤

Dating can be difficult. I say date with the idea of going out and being social. I love the idea of dating younger. I'd do it but I guess my husband would be pissed lol!! 😂😂😂

I would like to applaud you for admitting that you are lonely and want a partner to grow old with. There is such pressure these days to "be happy with yourself" and "be satisfied with your own company". As if you are required to be a some sort of superwoman. I am sorry but that's not me. I was married for 20 years and then he cheated and left me. But I am definitely someone who is lonely and doesn't want to be alone. I want a companion and if I am perceived as weak so be it. I am about to turn 59 and I want a partner. I am not sure where I was going with that but that's where my thoughts traveled.
I encourage you to go out for a drink or coffee with someone just because you want something to do. They are very likely thinking the same and who knows? You might make a great new friend that way. Your own age or not doesn't matter.
Hi Leann, so sorry your date didn't call back. First impressions are so hard. The way you love makeup, I am surprised you didn't wear any. I hate to say it but I'm 65 and look a bit younger, but even though I'm retired, I still put on makeup everyday. It is my way of making myself feel better. I know we all want someone to like us for who we are, I guess I always think if I'm picky about how someone I meet looks, they are probably feeling the same about who they are meeting. I don't mean you have to dress up or anything, Just think about your app. Picture. Is someone going to think you embellished it? Please don't take this the wrong way because that is not how I feel.

I would say it's not fair to him. You will find someone when you least expect it. I understand what you mean by you think you've aged when you look at yourself in the mirror. I'm in surgical menopause for the last 2 years and I feel my face has changed so much. I have gained weight too because of hormones and joint pain not being able to workout. I got a new ob and I'm on hormones and feeling so much better now. I will try to lose weight to maybe feel better how I look. You have not aged much when I look back 5 years ago at videos of you. But if you don't feel good your going to have negative thoughts. I hope you can start feeling good. Maybe take a break from dating and focus on you.
Final comment - to me you don’t look older than your age, or even your age. Would put you at least 5 years younger

Not really helpful with anything else and the dating stuff and such, but I don't think it was you not dressing up for that one guy. He seemed self-absorbed and he could probably tell you weren't all that impressed with his wealth and such which turned him off which isn't your fault, at least from how you told the story with him just talking about himself. It's probably a good thing he flaked if he can't bother to walk you to your car as well.
