Damn, if Safa says "that was stressful" after a descent and is constantly avoiding crossing into the other lane and alternating brakes you know it's bad. Probably the only thing worse than descending that road is having to climb it
It’s insane! I thought the same thing - very little did the camera reflect just how steep that decent had to have been. He decended more than _one vertical mile_ in less than 24 minutes! That’s like going from Denver, Colorado to the beach in California altitude-wise. Your ears would pop so much on that ride!
OMG, I have not been on the edge of my seat like this since I watched you on Las Flores! Man you got nerves of steel and the skills to run through town at that speed and survive to post the tale!
Got to congratulate you! I'm actually from Madeira and that's a really difficult path to do, even for cars, because you can't be too soft or too eager on the breaks and seeing you complete it was amazing! Be sure to ride safe and get more of these cool runs!
Holy cow this run was mesmerizing, exhilarating, and downright stressful at times. I swear there were more jump scares than a horror film. Amazing run Safa, glad you got down safe, with speed!
@@dinobarros3364 yeah sure. Islanders are different from continental people and you cheer and send roses when cyclists overtake cars on narrow roads at 60km stepping on continuous lines and burning red lights.
Safa in 'sensible mode': taking it easy on a narrow steep road down the mountain top. Also Safa in 'urban mode': going full send through a busy town, skipping red lights and swaying in all directions avoiding buses, cars and pedestrians 😅. I felt the adrenaline. Stay safe.
breath taking view, mad skill, the descend god showed us how it's done!!!! damn, I've got chills on my spine and adrenaline rush on the same time, you've done it again Sir!!!
SAFA that was an awesome decent. Hardcore going down hill at those speeds. My heart was racing. Enjoyed the views. Happy you made it downhill in one peace. Ride safely and be well. Thank you
As always, cool to see! Imagine this road as wide as there in USA! Here in Europe, mountain regions have lots of cool roads, but they're pretty narrow. You won't make it to 60 mph. Not very likely. Well, maybe with a death wish...
Sir! Your videos are excellent! It's almost like being there in person for us viewers! One question ... have you ever gotten a speeding ticket while riding your bike?
How do you go over street bumps at 60 KM/h I thought I was badass for doing the downhill forest tracks but this is on another level. Beautiful scenery of our beautiful island.
Well, now I know Shimano's new RT-CL900's still warp under prolonged heat~ I have the same rotors and they have been fine for my slow ass haha SAFA needs motocross disc brakes! But to be fair Shimano's new rotors held up way better than the previous model as you can clearly see in SAFA's video here!
I live on the island of Madeira. and I think you risked too much. the roads here are very narrow for the movement that has in addition to having many irregularities. and that red one you passed, you were lucky there wasn't a policeman because it's normal for them to be on the works and here they are not very friendly with cyclists.
I did a tour of Madeira with a road bike from Specialized and went pritty crazy, and to be more crazy tuck the highway road through the tunnels and i went madness, specially right at the entrance of the tunnel wen the road literally go in the centre of earth 😂. Unique experience! ❤️ Nice video and lots of reminders 😁
This was a very scenic run! While I do appreciate your skills and abilities, I can't help but feel annoyed also by you ignoring traffic laws multiple times and the risky overtakes. I don't think anything is worth that risk and also leads to drivers hating cyclists more. It would be horrible for you and for the other person if you had a crash due to ignoring basic traffic laws. Stopping is okay sometimes haha 😅 I had a nasty crash that led to me being incapacitated for several weeks and I don't even get close to your speeds. The thrill is great and all but you are playing with fire and it might strike back hard at some point. I hope you stay safe!
I am pretty sure that with all the tension in Portugal between drivers and cyclists, this video is the absolute last thing Madeira wants to see go around.
Have you never been in Chiang Mai, Thailand? The El Dorado for cyclists. The local mountain, Doi Suthep, would be great for you. Wide road and smooth bends. The highest spot of Thailand, Doi Inthanon, has a 40km decent, but they closed the downhill for cyclist now. Or you just risk a fine and do it 😆😁
I became religious again...have said all the known prayers while you cornered or run on the city... 🙏 Now I can change my underpants and ride full slow speed in my town. 🐤
Could almost feel the Portuguese sea breeze on my face while sitting comfortably at home in Korea. Amazing ride Safa!

Basically a codename cuz you don't want people to know your real name. That is the best way to hide a name in an online platform.
I love this videos, no music, no editing. Just a guy and his bike.
Yeah. The simplicity makes it really beautiful and humble. He's a solid guy for what he just did and he sounds so modest. His parents raised him well.

Madeira is truly a paradise. All around stunning views.

i clamped my hands at my desk throughout the whole descent
OMG, I was reaching for the brakes as you got down into the built up areas. Total respect and you lived to tell the tail.
This place is so beautiful. WOW! I can't get enough of it.
You can't even imagine the amount of insults drivers must have sent your way during this descent.
But he deserves it
Not long spent a week driving round most of Maderia, personally I have to say that's one very brave cyclist, those roads are steep and twisty
We don't insult cyclists here.

Epic 👍Made me speechless 😶 But some actions are beyond my liking 😤
agreed!!
I was on the edge of my seat for the narrow roads. Incredible.
No way.. that was 24 minutes? I get to the end and check how long that was, that felt like it was over in an instant, what a run.
respect! that was insane!... first speedbumb in funchal caught me offguard 😵💫
U need to follow trafic laws, that red light u bypassed on the cronstruction work could be dangerous
... yeah, not. The road is not wide enough for two enormous cars to pass, but a bike always fits.
Man, I have been watching the clips lately a lot but this one by far the most dangerous one... steep curves but also heavy chaotic traffic! Be safe..
Exelente video amigo.. Un maestro del descenso 🚴♀️saludos desde Colombia
Its nice to see that Brian is now slowing down at every curves. Maybe he got some lessons
breath taking view, mad skill, the descend god showed us how it's done!!!! damn, I've got chills on my spine and adrenaline rush on the same time, you've done it again Sir!!!
Sometimes we forget how beautiful our Island is love the video
Amazing place. Every day our minds were blown.
It is amazing to see but very scary to watch you ride this one knowing that at any moment things can go totally wrong lol.
Outstanding landscape, lovely road, perfect run ❤❤❤ we have some roads over here if you are in this neck of the woods, alpine roads 😁
Crazy ride. How many red lights did you pass?
it was fun to see you riding down the road i do everyday to go to work :D
Heart stopping, heart pounding. Grande cajones
Watching this made me miss Latigo rd descent in Malibu and La Honda descent in Redwood City
I've been in Madeira some weeks ago. I was telling myself "there's no way I can descend on the streets of funchal on a bike", man you blow my mind!
My man just ignores traffic laws 😅
Savage
13:20 The red light, is red light for you as well...
If 99% of rules is there because of huge isolated cars that need 4m of width, you soon learn that it's a waste of time to adhere.
Yeah.... The camera don't do justice to how steep that road is... You should do the descent from Encumeada to São Vicente . It's also a blast. 👍
I feel like watching a thriller movie. So glad that u are still alive🫣
That free-hub noise would drive me insane 😂
Excellent video. Theonly thing that I don´t like is the freehub sound. The views, the road and the bike looks amazing. Big hug from Mallorca, Spain.
SAFA that was an awesome decent. Hardcore going down hill at those speeds. My heart was racing. Enjoyed the views. Happy you made it downhill in one peace. Ride safely and be well. Thank you
18:46 = brown bib shorts moment
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
It's camera lens distortion
Ha ha and the rotor isn´t any more straight..
oh woww it's therapeutic to watch
As always, cool to see!

Brian these POV’s are excellent my man! Keep doing this. Love seeing it from your perspective
it's crazy that houses' doors open up to a street with cars going 50km/h
I didn't even think of that 😂
That was fun and super nice i love it.
I feel like you've seen more places of Madeira than I have, I am born there

Nice view down the road!
Wonder how the wind noise was barely picked up.
Fantastic work. And I’m glad my freewheel noise is incidental,(and doesn’t sound like a maimed animal).
This was like a scary movie.
I just imagine how good and hard is climbing all of that road
🇬🇧Great Riding SAFA! What a video! Your bike sounds Superb! 👌. 🤘😎🤘

I was wondering if that was rotor rub I was hearing, or if the crank or front derailleur was misaligned. now, I know.
What SAFA needs is still under development (carbon brake rotors and special calipers)...
Amazing!
Wowww excellent Brian. Ride on dude.
wow amazing
Casually taking a sip of water. 😅👌🏻
feels like your brake is rubbing against the pad.
I like how he drink the water with relax while he speeding 50+kmh
Soooooper beautiful place also with cleaning.... One day I'll come for ride
You are just badass love watching you ride bro stay safe
Now I want to get there on that island and walk around it
Red lights? No, thank you. Safe distance? No, thank you. Full speed downhill? YES ! 😅
Crazy
Beautiful run in a beautiful place! Portugal is gorgeous! Now I have a reason to get back there! 😎
Love the bike
SAFA is like me - he hates the red lights. :))

Hi Safa . . . 👑
Great run, what I would like to know is how did you get up to the start.
Amazing view , I love❤ down the hill! This place like , Wuling 3000 meters ⛰️武嶺 in Taiwan, my country🥹🚴😅

Legend!
Always wanted to cycle down the plateau to the sea... never knew how I'd get my bike back up to go a second time though! Plus my bike is in the U.K XD
It looks faster on film but great decent, beautiful scenery……
Nice one, but Madeiras final boss descend is perhaps the boca da corrida-Estreito de câmara de lobos road 🫡
4:58 what a lovely place to ride 2up w your partner!
Totally MAD but inspiring. Now let us see you ride up it 😋
insane
This is where I need to be
You should visit La Palma in the Canary Islands Spain.

What a thrill. Anyone counted the traffic violations? :D
nice bike there🤟❤️
people always ask me "why do you like riding up hills?"
This is bananas! How many attempts before you fucking bomb a descent like this?
I'm not riding up there again!
Hey SAFA! Great video as usual! Does the brakes sounds like that cause they are cold or they just broke lol
dont cross red lights
would like a silent hubs though
Epic! ❤🔥
City of Madeira should save this video. flying SAFA
I am pretty sure that with all the tension in Portugal between drivers and cyclists, this video is the absolute last thing Madeira wants to see go around.
Isn’t this where a scène from No Time To Die is recorded? I can be wrong

Not america😅
passed pretty close to my house XD
I’m from here!
Dude, how are you still alive Safa?
Hahahaha! That's what I wanted to ask!
for real
It would be nice to see total distance traveled
Looks awesome, however, you committed a few traffic offences that could have caused an accident...
I hope you serviced your hub after this 😀
As a portuguese now I kinda feel like I gotta go out there and ride Madeira
And you do.
- a fellow Portuguese (madeirense lol)
