I have just ordered a 360mm aio for this, with a low profile (2 fan) 3070. The other option was a bigger GPU and a 240mm top mounted aio, but that introduces clearance issues with fans and high profile ram. Depends how RGB/looks focused you are when building, as this case definitely does what it says on the tin, but to do it and keep it looking pretty is more of a challenge. Watch out for clearance issues with big ram and big GPUs guys!
That is exactly my plan.I will buy COOLER MASTER MasterLiquid ML360L V2 ARGB and remove three case front fans and put fans on radiator and rafiator on the front. Those three fans that I will remove I will place two at the top and one at the back.I just wonder will rtx 3070 with two fans will fit.

The max room is 180mm but it doesnt feel that way because my 160mm is super tight with the storage bay kept in (which I need to have because my HDD).
Adamant, hi! Thank you for the thorough description of the 220T! Having one of my own and dealing with the fan noise from the three RGB fans, I was wondering if upgrading to three similar Corsair 4-pin PWM fans would still work with the iCUE node module for RGB control? Thank you!
Yes, 4-pin corsair fans will have the same RGB connector for the Node Core hub. However, check this video where I found that the SP120 RGB fans you get with this case are actually pretty good. Double check your BIOS fan setup! ruclips.net/video/NgTlD-jNQ-Y/видео.html
Thanks for this great overview, I was seriously looking at this case. But how shallow the top is, plus some small things like noise and that the node is lighting only. I was told by someone in London that you could control the speed of the fans as well.
Yea... all of these things are solvable, but shouldn't need to be solved =/ I'm planning a video about how to get the best from 3pin fans, but like, with PWM fans you just plug them in. No fuss. It was deliberate to put 3pin fans on this case so owners would be more tempted to buy the higher-end corsair fans IMHO.
No, those will be 4pin PWM and give you a much greater level of control over the speed and noise. But that's my beef, a triple pack of those will set you back $100, which makes a cheap case considerably more expensive. Although I suppose you could argue that you'd need to buy nice fans for any other case... so make of that what you will.
@@Adamant_IT or if you happened to have a bunch of pwm fans laying around, I already got my icue 220 t in and remeoved the rgb fans, and installed all corsair pwm fans, I completely removed the bottom fan in the front to move the other 2 fans down as low as they could go, and this gives ample room for a top mounted radiator, using an asus ROG Strix b550f board, and still be able to mount a rear exhaust fan without it getting in the way, and this provides excellent thermals, and is very quiet. I then just used the lighting node to connect led strips and man does it really make this case look amazing. I will say, I did have all of the extra stuff just laying around, the only thing I actually had to purchase to do this entire build was the motherboard, and the case...so that goes a long ways. anyone having to buy all of the parts may consider it differently
I'm having an issues with my corsair sp120 rgb fans. I'm building in the corsair 220t and I have power to the fans, I just don't have the rgb. I have the usb and sata connected from the rgb node it comes with and I have the fans on 2 splitters. Am I missing a step for the rgb to work?
Is there another case full atx with a small footprint like this that's a little more friendly towards top mount aio coolers? great video very informative
Top mount is a tricky one... I don't top mount very often so I'm honestly not sure. You could try taking a look at the Phanteks P300 though, it's a similar concept to this case. I haven't seen one in the metal though, so no idea if it'll be any better.
I had this RGB strip conencted to my mobo's ARGB header. To be clear, it doesn't come with the case - but as you can see it complements it nicely. Corsair also make RGB strips that _do_ plug into the case's RGB hub
I have the same corsair AIO as you and would also like to make it work in this case. If i'm front mounting the radiator how do I tie it in with the front fans? The water block/pump has 2 fan connections that come off of it. Do the front RGB fans plug into that or does everything go into the corsair fan controller built into the case. Basically i'm confused and need to know how you control the 2 front RGB fans that are blowing through the radiator.
There's two ways you can do it: A) Normal setup for this case is to have the fans plugged into your mobo (except RGB leads into the RGB hub) so you do that as normal, and then in your BIOS, set up the fan header(s) you've used to set their speed based on CPU temp. This is often the default setup of modern mobos anyway, but you'll need to check in case your mobo sets case fan speed based on the mobo's "ambient" temp sensor. B) Plug the fans in front of the radiator into the H100i's dual fan header cable, as if they were the fans that came with it anyway. Third fan at the bottom can go to the mobo. Advantage of doing it this way is to give the H100 direct control of the fans from iCue, and since you'd be running iCue on this computer to do the RGB anyway, this is how I'd set it up long-term.
Adam, would this case fit a Sapphire RX5700 XT PULSE with a Kraken G10 Rad on front (240m rad) plus another 240m rad for the CPU on top? Also, the iCUE hub, i will need a PWM fan hub too, right? Also, iCUE work with a B360 Aura heather?
So long as you're not using tall RAM you'll probably get away with that. Fans you'll want to plug into the mobo, so make sure your mobo has enough headers, or get a triple splitter for the front fans. And yes you can route Asus Aura Sync into iCue. This is done in software, no headers needed.
Just a quick question, what is the size of AIO that you used. I want to upgrade my cooler to an AIO and am hesitating between a front mounted 360 or a top mounted 280, I got some relatively low profile ram so cleareance might be okay but I'm unsure about it
I generally use 240mm AIOs. They're plenty good enough for consumer CPUs. I personally wouldn't bother with a 280mm rad unless you're running a top-end CPU, or if you're doing moderate to high overclocking. That being said, if the 280 is only a few bucks more than the 240, then go for it.
I actually like this case a lot. Was a bit skeptical about it at first after watching some reviews talking about size restrictions. Turned out to be perfect for me personally. I can't stand big obnoxious cases, but didn't want an actual micro atx build. This is a great middle ground with really good build quality. I think for the average person building a gaming PC, this has more than enough space too. The only real issue I had with space was for HDDs. I had to take the cage out for more cable space, but I don't think it's necessary with really neat/ careful cable management. Even with a standard non modular PSU, which is what I used with this.
So I've just built in this case, and beside being an awesome build I overlooked the size of the 3070 ti. Had to sacrifice a front fan and had to replace the the front fans with Corsair sp120 elite fans to have pwm fans and connected them to a Corsair commander pro, so I just spent more than I need to just to bring fan speeds down
After watching this review and seeing the pinned comment on the fan update, I order this case from Newegg's BF deals for my nephews Christmas present. This and the GPU is the last piece of the build. He bought the ROG STRIX B450-F, 32gb g-skill ram kit, I sold him my Ryzen 7 2700, and I have a HX750 laying around from my old build. He will use the old video card (GTX 645) from the old Dell he has, till he can afford a current one.
This case is a freakin' godsend. It's because of this case, my RX580 ranges around 29*C to 31*C during idle. Also, my Ryzen 7 1700 ranges around 22*C to 26*C during idle. The AIO I have helps with that.
Hey can i ask do i have to put fan in the back and does this thing have negatvie thing if i dont put fan in the back??? And if i want to put fan like sp 140 in the back and at front 3 fan sp120 can i do this ?? And thank you
Hey there, dose that fan and rgb controller work for other Corsair RGB products? I was looking to get the Corsair 750 Watt CX750F RGB PSU and it has a 4 pin Corsair RGB wire on it, I assume the controller isn't just for fan?
Yes, the RGB controller with this case uses the Corsair 4pin connections, so you can add additional stuff to it 👍 It's a great way to start a Corsair RGB build, as Corsair's stand-alone controllers are a lot more complicated.
Adamant IT Would the fans work fine In the 4 pin connector and could I control fans speeds as u have in one of your other vids, if I just don’t change fans speeds will the fans work good enough withought changing anything in the bios.
They're just generic cheapy ones and look naff. I've got an older Corsair case with the same kind of ports, and they're not exactly durable. I wouldn't call them a deal-breaker, but it's annoying because Corsair are capable of better. Thankfully their newer case designs have much nicer ports.
Hello, is a 306mm gpu gonna fit in there? I have a asus rog strix 5700XT and I'm looking for this case, is my gpu gonna fit? Will I be able to put a H100i platinum se AIO in the front or only in top with that gpu? Thanks
What cooler did you use ? Because I got that same case and I wanna make sure an H115i can fit up there without interfering with the heat sink from the motherboard or ram.
I had a H100i fitted. The width should be fine, but the thickness of the fans is your enemy here. You can clear the fans with not-obnoxiously-tall RAM modules, but I think a 280mm setup will foul on a large IO cover or VRM heatsinks too. You'll need to check the height of everything on the mobo.
They all have good front filters, so dust is no more an issue than any other case! Filters don't eliminate dust entirely, but they cut out the vast majority of it.
I had top-exhausts for this one, and I didn't have a 4th corsair fan to go at the back. I did go through a phase of avoiding them for aesthetics, but I'm not so sure these days. But yea, main reason here was no wanting to put a non-LED fan that didn't match there, and having the exhaust already handled by the top fans.
Thank you so much for this video review! I loved the look of the white version and I wanted to go all Corsair - inc their white RGB RAM and white AIO but you've proved they won't fit together. I don't want to fit the AIO at the front; I wanted to leave the 3 fans at the front and have the AIO at the top. I'm back to the drawing board and looking at NZXT, I need a change from Fractal but your video has saved me from making a huge mistake! Thank you!
Adamant, hi! I wanted to ask you about the maximum GPU length that this case supports without a front radiator, in other reviews they talk about supporting up to 320mm GPU, is that true?
can i fit a 3070 x trio in this case? im a little confused... i seen a video with a slight larger card installed.... but the spec lengths just dont add up..
I got this case running A 2070 super had some problems building but after I got stuff figured out it's amazing I recommend some crucial RAM if your top mounting a aio that's what I had to do and I have a micro ATX board also !
I have the ASUS a320m-k motherboard it doesn’t have any rgb compatibility will I be able to use the i cue and control the fans speed and what not ? Great video as well very informative appreciate it I’m new to building computers I have a prebuilt one just now and have just ordered this case to swap the components into I have already upgraded my gpu and power supply so this is my next big job the thermals inside the current cooler master master box lite 3.1 are terrible
@@triphix1216 hey thanks for the fast reply honestly wasn't even thinking you would but like i have a 650w psu from asus and it's really big like a lot bigger than my old one would it fit in this case?
@@triphix1216 thank you so much i'm a bit new to these things, i have another question you don't have to answer it if you don't want to, but will the case be able to have an ssd inside of it?
Awesome video, great review. Lets say i get this case, and i will buy 3 more fans like the ones in the front. My motherboard only got 5 fan headers, how do i connect them all for my system, do i need a Corsair Commander pro or something like that to get power to all of my fans?
Yea if you want to go with lots of fans, I'd recommend a dedicated fan controller like the Commander. It'll likely give you more control than the mobo headers as well. I think the SP120 RGB Pro fans that this case comes with can go quieter than I found in the review, you just need a better controller than my motherboard has.
Hi! I have this same case and i was wondering will a rtx 2080 super asus rog strix (3 fans) [300mm] fit in this case? I will not install a aio or nothing that blocks it, thanks.
Does the commander hub built into the case allow you to hook up 3 more fans? From the photos it looks as there is 3 extra slots open for you to hook them up but it’s not clear in their description. Great video!
Yes, the build in "Lighting Node Core" can do up to 6 fans. Keep in mind though, it's LED control only, it doesn't handle fan speeds, so make sure your mobo has enough fan headers.
Hi, do you think i can fit a Radeon R9 Fury Nitro on this case? The GPU has 307mm, the specs of the case state that you can fit a GPU up to 300mm ... i really like the case. Thanks!
By a _whisker_. Here's a link to a video showing the case with a 298mm card fitted, and you need another 9mm... I'll let you be the judge... ruclips.net/video/F7FqRRZ91Yg/видео.html
does any one know, for these rgb fans that come with case, do i need to have 3 pin headers on my motherboard to plug them into, or do you just plug them into the node/hub and the fan blades are powered by that, or can i plug them into a 4 pin header on my motherboard to power the blades? i am very confused to how the actual fans blades are powered.
With my current build in this case I've got the HDD bay fitted again, and if you've only got a single HDD in there, you'll have room to bury some cables under that HDD. Without the HDD cage there's loads of room. So yea, I think you can do cable extensions.
Tbh I think this case works better with air-cooling. You can absolutely fit watercoolers, but they kinda don't fit well in top or front IMHO. A customer with one of these just had the AMD Wraith Max cooler and it looked more balanced that my build did - although it would've been a little louder.
@@Adamant_IT but you did it , love this build .. ruclips.net/video/nQmbEavTIgE/видео.html , low profile RAM will work i think. but my ram corsair vengeance pro RGB will not work :( right ?
Annoyingly, I've lost my spare fittings for my NZXT build, so no AMD bracket. However, I'd stick with corsair in this case for iCUE compatibility anyway. It's one of my frustrations with Corsair and NZXT, due to their proprietary RGB, you're kinda locked in to meta builds... cosair RGB case, corsair watercooler, NZXT RGB case, NZXT watercooler. Unless you want to run three different RGB clients anyway.
I was about to get this for my first pc but now I'm doubting. What would you recommend to be some better cases for someone building his first pc? I'd be able to write down the other parts if you need them! ^^
I still think this is a good case, but it's a little tricky for a first-time builder. If you really liked this case though, I'd still say buy it. The hard parts are just time consuming (you might realise you have to take something back out to run cables, then put it back in again) rather than actually difficult. For a similar, but easier case, consider something like a Phanteks or NZXT. Comparable size and quality, just without the super-compact design.
@@Adamant_IT I really appreciate your feedback. I'll follow up your advice to go with something else I think. The problem is I find it hard to find a case since I don't know how much space I'll need exactly for my components for them to not get too warm. I thought I was going to be able to order this weekend but looks like I'll have to look around a bit more haha.
Hi, I have the same case, I just want to correct you on the Case Fans Rpm. I have an Msi b450 motherboard and i can adjust the fans voltage instead of the percentage in the fan curve settings (bios), I can lower them as low as stopping them from spinning. I have set my fan curve as of right now on 600 rpm idle/normal use, then it gets higher with the temps (I can't remember the exact numbers that i have set to the curve). I think it differs from a Motherboard to the other. Great video btw. *Edit* : *Typo*
Yea, percentage was the wrong term for me to use, I'm aware that it's voltage based. That's interesting that your mobo will let you go lower though, my Asus boards "60%" is about 8.3v, and 3-pins fans operate down to about 7.3 - so it makes sense that these fans could go lower. I'll have to try some other mobos to see if that helps. I think I'd find 600rpm tolerable. Cheers for the tip!
I have a 220t icue, and a master cooler 240ml i cant put it on top because of the ram so i put it on front, then i just ordered a 6800xt gaming trio and i dont think i will have space......
Thank you for this video sir, I’m buying this case for my first build! Will the Corsair rm650x psu be good in this case? Also how do I get access to the full build video?
@@liban2 Yes, i have this exact same case, and i have an RM650x in it, the only thing though is that you have to remove the HDD cage to make some room for it, Otherwise i don't think it will fit, because you have to factor in the cables that will take some extra space in front of the Psu. I'm Using a Nvme SSD so i didn't have a problem taking the HDD cage out.
@@liban2 I really don't know because i didn't try it, you may wanna search a little bit on the internet if someone managed to do it, or wait for a response from Adamant IT before you buy it.
Adamant IT Because I got a case that came with 2 RGB fans and 1 for the CPU Cooler (Ryzen 5 3600) and I can’t figure out how to activate all fans when my MOBO has 2 spots (LEDCPU, SYSFAN, CPUFAN). So a thorough video on how daisy chain works (or whatever it’s called) would help a lot!
I've done a test fit, and I'd say No to TridentZ and top-mount. I think I lucked out with the Patriot 40mm stuff. Not a watercooling-friendly case, this one.
Yes, although the Patriot Viper modules I used have a slope at the ends, and I think that might've been where the rad was sitting. What GPU are you intending on using? Is front-mount absolutely not an option?
Tell me if its a good pc case for using a Ryzen 5 5600x Gtx 1660 super dual fan 2tb 360mm aio 6 corsair 120mm fans Full atx motherboard 600 wats psu 2x 8gb corsair rgb ram
Yea that should work just fine. The 1660 will be short enough to fit behind a front-mount rad. It will still be a tight fit though, so be prepared for a challenging build.
Yes, I've got a 150mm long PSU fitted to mine with the HDD cage in and it just about fits. The VS650w is apparently 130mm long, so you should have no issues. You will need to bury some of the PSU wires in the HDD cage though, so single 3.5" drive only.
Hey we got similar taste. U have that corsair 400c jus like me, the evga 1070 sc, and now Im planning to upgrade to this 220T. You're one step ahead lol.
i like my cooler-master products i bought for my build. i got the 360 rad with ml fans and six additional ml rgb fans all the lights run off the controller that came with the AIO. at idle my fans run around 1000 rpm gpu i have set to run at 1200 rpm because i don't like them starting and stooping like evga has on default. i have a large Lian li case and i never hear my fans even under load. this system has not gotten hot enough for the fans to run above 1700 rpm the gpu is capable of 3500 rpm but never goes above 2500. i bench marked in heaven and valley for 2 hours and the cpu and gpu never got warmer than 60 C so i love it. of course its hot here in GA and i have fans and air conditioning running in the back ground so fan noise has never bothered me. cooling my house is more of an issue if i were to be trying to record my guitar or livestream than the noise of my computer ever will be. My only major complaint with my build is that i have 3 different programs just to set the rgb i have an evga card collermaster fans/ controler and have to use msi dragon center to set my ram and led strips. but i just set it and forget it.
You'll need to remove the HDD cage. I've got a 160mm PSU fitted to this case at the moment, same length as the Toughpower, but mine is non-modular, so the cables stick out less. I've just offered up a modular PSU, and it needs more space for the modular connectors. I'd say 150mm is the limit for a modular PSU + HDD cage.
Okay I have the same case I love the review very honest and educational but I have 1 question did this guy have a rad placed on the top of the case with no fans ? Wtf lol
Fans were on top of the rad in a pull configuration. I wanted to hide them as they weren't LED fans, so having the radiator face on show would look cleaner.
No idea at all, I haven't looked up the physical specs of the new cards. Basically if your card is 280mm or lower you're fine. 280-300 and you might have issues with a front-mount rad. 300+ will be a no.

With a front-mount radiator - no
Will I be able to add non Corsair brand rgb fans to this case?
I'm having an issues with my corsair sp120 rgb fans. I'm building in the corsair 220t and I have power to the fans, I just don't have the rgb. I have the usb and sata connected from the rgb node it comes with and I have the fans on 2 splitters. Am I missing a step for the rgb to work?
Should be working. Have you set the correct fan type in iCue?
Hi Adaman IT.
Are the RGB fans of the case controllable with MSI mystic light?
No. Corsair stuff is iCUE only. Which is a shame, however, iCUE is the best there is.
@@Adamant_IT ok sounds good I'll have a look
@@WASD-MVME define c/ meshify c from fractal is only slightly bigger with up to 280mm rad on top
did the rgb strip just plug into one of the empty slots on the fan hub included with the 220t case ?
There's two ways you can do it:
A) Normal setup for this case is to have the fans plugged into your mobo (except RGB leads into the RGB hub) so you do that as normal, and then in your BIOS, set up the fan header(s) you've used to set their speed based on CPU temp.
@@Adamant_IT Thanks Adam, my RAM is not tall at all and i have a PWM hub too ready ;)
Even with a standard non modular PSU, which is what I used with this.
and what about the fans? did you swap them out with better ones and were the old ones as loud as he says in the video?
Friend, is it possible to replace SP120 fans for QL120? Do I need to change the controller?
They can be swapped directly, yes

Hey there, dose that fan and rgb controller work for other Corsair RGB products?
I was looking to get the Corsair 750 Watt CX750F RGB PSU and it has a 4 pin Corsair RGB wire on it, I assume the controller isn't just for fan?
Yes, the RGB controller with this case uses the Corsair 4pin connections, so you can add additional stuff to it 👍
It's a great way to start a Corsair RGB build, as Corsair's stand-alone controllers are a lot more complicated.
Hi can I plug the 3 pin fans on a 4 pin header on my b450 tomahawk max motherboard, as my mobo doesn’t have any 3 pin fan headers.
Yes you can. The mobo will auto-detect what type of fan is connected.
Adamant IT Would the fans work fine In the 4 pin connector and could I control fans speeds as u have in one of your other vids, if I just don’t change fans speeds will the fans work good enough withought changing anything in the bios.
I just stuffed an xfx 5700xt thicc 3 Ultra in this case and had to permanently remove the front middle fan to do so
why are the 2 usb ports on top of the case are garbage? did i miss you explaining it?
They're just generic cheapy ones and look naff. I've got an older Corsair case with the same kind of ports, and they're not exactly durable. I wouldn't call them a deal-breaker, but it's annoying because Corsair are capable of better. Thankfully their newer case designs have much nicer ports.
Hello, is a 306mm gpu gonna fit in there? I have a asus rog strix 5700XT and I'm looking for this case, is my gpu gonna fit? Will I be able to put a H100i platinum se AIO in the front or only in top with that gpu? Thanks
looks funky without a rear fan and would flip the water block so corsair logo reads horizontal.
Adamant do you know if a cordair TXM 650w psu would fit inside this case?
Yup you'll be fine.
Air flow it means they are not really good to keep dust out, right? If I have dust problems I should avoid this models? Pretty good video! Thank you!
They all have good front filters, so dust is no more an issue than any other case!
Filters don't eliminate dust entirely, but they cut out the vast majority of it.
Any reason you don't have a rear exhaust case fan? I've seen a number of builds like that recently.
I did a build with this case a few months ago, it was fun and hard at the same time!
Thank you!
same here,
You can use a ULNA adapter from Noctua to get the fans lower than 60%.
What are some good alternatives to this case? I want something similar but with less of the asterixis that you mentioned like having little room
I'm a big fan of the Corsair 4000D, however there isn't an RGB version of it yet, so you'll need to buy your own fans.
Adamant, hi! I wanted to ask you about the maximum GPU length that this case supports without a front radiator, in other reviews they talk about supporting up to 320mm GPU, is that true?
I think 300mm is your limit really, probably 290 with a front-mount rad.
Will a 360mm like the Corsair 150i pro fit on the front of the case with the already installed fans that come with the case? Any clearance issues?
Yes, it'll fit, but NOT with the HDD cage - so you'd need to be SSD only.
can i fit a 3070 x trio in this case? im a little confused... i seen a video with a slight larger card installed.... but the spec lengths
just dont add up..

Yes, the Lighting Node Core you get with this connects via an internal USB2 header, so you can use it with any mobo.
I will need commander pro to controll fan speeds is that correct because my mobo only has one fan header well 2 including the cpu one

Would you recommend using a non modular psu for this case? Cause I ordered a non modular psu and I’m about to order this case
i dont think it would matter too much. it doesnt have to much space for cable management on the back but i think you can manage
Hi! I have this same case and i was wondering will a rtx 2080 super asus rog strix (3 fans) [300mm] fit in this case? I will not install a aio or nothing that blocks it, thanks.
Yes, it'll for without a front rad.
Adamant IT What if I don’t need to adjust fan speed? I don’t think my mobo can fit all of the extra 3 fans
You could use some fan splitters or molex to fan headers, not elegant, but they'd work.
Adamant IT Alright, will I basically need 6 fan headers because of the 3 that come with the case?

Did you try to mount your NZXT Kraken cooler?

You'll need to remove the HDD cage. I've got a 160mm PSU fitted to this case at the moment, same length as the Toughpower, but mine is non-modular, so the cables stick out less.
