As a Knick fan, it's painfully accurate to compare the Knicks to the Bears. Both are old, historic franchises in the largest and third largest American cities. Both are based in geographic regions with strong traditional collegiate association to the team's sport with Big East basketball's legacy in New York and Big Ten/Notre Dame football in the midwest. Both have limited championships and neither have won in almost 40 years. Both had iconic, high-profile teams 25+ years ago but marginal to no success since, leading to both fanbases possessing (to the outside observer) an underserved sense of pride. Both have been marred by bad front offices and both have been lambasted for not drafting the generational superstar that changed their respective sports in Patrick Mahomes and Steph Curry. I mean fuck, they basically have the same colors...
