As a dancer I also feel such magic when I watch the Nutcracker!!! It's such a magical time of year and I always pull out my pointe shoes and reflect on my favourite memories 💛
Here for you, Emily. ❤️ grief is different for everyone. It brought so much joy to me to see your nonna wearing the summer soufflé you made her. Hoping that knitting can bring you calm.
Condolences to you and your family🕊️. Yes, please be gentle with yourself. It’s the one thing I learned when I lost my auntie. Sending you positive energy and hugs 🤗🧡. Love the yarns and finished pieces 🧶
I just want to say as a fellow ex dancer... bless your soul for finding any joy in seeing the nutcracker LOL I love dancing snow I will admit.. But generally speaking I would rather see any other ballet than the nutcracker after being in hundreds of them myself!
I am so happy to see you and your joy back ! As as always I loved you breakdown’s and reviews and ideas! I can’t wait to see what you bring us!! Love and blessings
Sorry to hear about your Nonna, loosing family is hard. Grief is different for everyone so be gentile with yourself. I love the tree, the ruffle idea is very unique. I can't wait to see your Moby, I've been eyeing the pattern. As much as I love the cream sample, I love seeing how the stitches and cables look in other colors.
Hey Emily! First of all, I was so sorry to hear about your grandma's passing. Hopefully knitting can bring you a little comfort in this difficult time. I really enjoyed the podcast and your yarn choice for the headband (the magpie fibers colour is stunning!). Take care 🤍
Sorry to hear about your loss. Happy to see you working through your grief in a way that works for you. I had such a great chuckle during this episode. As you were wearing the fingerless glove (love it, by the way) you compared it to the mitten you made Adam by saying you made a handful of modifications while holding up your hand wearing the glove. Made me chuckle.
Nutcracker brings me a ton of nostalgia as well I never danced in it but I did sing. Our choir teacher at my high school was the concertmaster for the local symphony orchestra. So the girls from our acapella group did the chorus with the orchestra on that Snowflake scene for about 18 performances. So anytime I hear the any music from the Nutcracker I remember sitting in stairwell from the stage level to the flys watching the nutcracker from a one-foot wide opening sitting on a metal stair with half a dozen other girls.
I’m so sorry for you with the loss of your Nonna. Grief is varied and personal and I think being gentle on yourself is the wisest advice. Just a note on your headband I often use Judy’s magic cast on, it ends up putting the other stitches onto a spare needle/cable which I leave until I’m ready to pick up or graft. You may need to re-orient the stitches but I found this is the quickest and simplest way. Thanks for sharing lovely as always 🥰
Your nonna sounds like a special person. Did you have any works in progress for her? I was working on something recently for someone close to me who was sick and didn't finish in time to give it to her. I knew I wanted to finish it, but wasn't sure what to do with it. So after I finished it sat on my desk for a while. I eventually asked her husband if he knew anyone who wanted it and he said he did. :'(
Have a wonderful time at the ballet. What does one wear to such a show these days? I have a feeling it’s not an evening gown, or is it? How exciting.👍🏼😄
If you’re ever on the hunt for more cables, lantern moon has spin cables but they have the nylon coating like chiaogoo so they don’t link at all, they also don’t have much of a bump at that join! & they amazing!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Nonna. ❤ I learned to knit one month after my grandmother passed. I'm so happy that you have your partner, your family, your job, & your knitting to get you through your days. Your new headband is lovely! It's neat to hear that you went to a performing arts school - was it ESA? I went to Wexford in Scarborough. 😊
Thanks for sharing! I’m happy to pay a little more for the kfo silk because of their ethical harvesting practices, but I didn’t know that it also impacted the Fiber!

I hope that the memories of your loved one will one day bring you comfort 💜
So glad you are feeling inspired again ❤ I hope you continue to find some comfort and happiness in your knitting ❤
I was lucky enough to perform as the Snow Queen for my dance studio’s production last year! I definitely feel the holiday magic within that scene ❤

Haha this made me chuckle! I haven't seen any live performances since my friends senior shows in 2020, so I'm game to see anything this year!
I am really sorry for your loss! Take care, I hope your knitting helps you to remember your nonna fondly
I'm so sorry about your Nonna, I could tell you loved her very much. Lovely episode. As always.
Heck yeah stroll tweed is the best! I highly recommend Andrea mowrys everyday socks. They fit so well!

After seeing your arched gusset fingerless gloves, I immediately cast on with red thrifted yarn for a gift! Thank you for the idea.
So sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family
I feel the same about the Nutcracker - it was always so magical going to see it at the NAC in Ottawa, and then performing it when i was older
Yes, be very gentle with yourself as you go. I’m so sorry to hear about your Nonna.

Haha I’m not too sure, but I’ll welcome a chance to dress up!

I’ll keep an eye out; I’ve never heard of these needles!
@@highfiberknits I have a set of them & they are beautiful needles, but the cords are just amazing they’re some of my favorites!

Hi Heather!! Yes, I’ve lived in Toronto my whole life except undergrad in Montreal. I’ve purchased knitting for olive at Eweknit or The Knitting Loft
Where do you purchase the Gepard kid seta mohair in the US, what website do you use?
Hi Shari! I’m in Canada, so I can purchase from a local vendor; you might be able to find stockists in the grapes garn kid website though
❤❤❤
So sorry for your loss
