Petritoli è un comune italiano di 2 148 abitanti della provincia di Fermo nelle Marche ed è annoverato tra i “borghi più belli d’Italia”Attraverso tre archi ogivali ottocenteschi, racchiusi entro due torrioni del XV secolo, si accede al paese antico. La Torre civica alta circa 40m e svettante sopra il borgo è ben riconoscibile anche a distanza e caratterizza il borgo, venne realizzata nell'ottocento, costruita in tre diverse forme architettoniche, con probabili riferimenti esoterici. Lungo il corso si trova il novecentesco Palazzo Vitali, in stile gotico-veneziano. Accanto vi è il teatro dell'Iride (1877). Dal 2012 il borgo marchigiano è rifiorito grazie al turismo europeo: coppie francesi, tedesche e olandesi hanno scelto Petritoli come cornice per le proprie nozze favorendo notevolmente il rilancio dell'economia locale, infatti Petritoli è noto come il borgo dei matrimoni stranieri. Famosa è la “Festa de le Cove”ossia della raccolta del grano offerto poi simbolicamente alla Madonna. il borgo viene adornato con spighe di grano e viene percorso da carri allegorici trainati da trattori e seguito da persone di tutte le età in costume tradizionale che cantano suonano e ballano.
