- James picked up this old rusty McCulloch 1-52 chainsaw a while ago and it has been sat in storage ever since. Without being started for over 20 years, will it be possible to restore to it's former glory? Watch this new series to find out if he has what it takes to restore this beautiful chainsaw to brand new condition. It is a 1960's MCculloch 1-52 chainsaw, 87cc.
James has taken on this as the next challenge/restoration project. We hope you enjoy the process, we think this one might be a challenge!

Now that was a freaking cool video! I love all the old chainsaws up in the top shelf...
Proper top shelf material 👌🏽 thank you Steve!
@@MachineryNation I can’t wait until I can come see that for myself!
@@StevesSmallEngineSaloon be quick and then you can help me with the rebuild lol 😂
Nice job!
This mashine looking good!
Rebuilt a 1-52 I bought at a auction for 25 bucks finding parts is a challenge it’s a great saw heavy as hell takes a bit of getting used to how slow it cuts and runs use to running husky but it is fun to get out and drive the neighbors crazy with the awesome sound it makes
Fantastic video, the only thing I didn't like was the choice of loud music right over the first cold start, hearing that old 2-stroke come to life is the main reason I love this kind of video!
I completely agree, it was an editing issue that was not picked up on until it had been live for several hours 😂🤦🏻♂️ my sincere apologies.
So cool I love watching old things get restored.
Wow I love chainsaws this exactly what I’ve been looking for thank you so much for posting
well done James that was very impressive looking forward to the finished project
Cheers buddy, we appreciate it 👍🏼
"Brute force and ignorance," my most common way of working on things that try to stick.
I really liked the video but I wish I could of heard the engine run more without the background music .
We agree, bit of a balls up on our behave there.
Great video guys. Loving it. Peace
Sad to see that the only homelite there is a homelite 150, you shoud get an Xl-102 or XL-101, I think they are the most beautiful saws ever made.
Yeah not a lot of Homelites in the UK, or if there is, they don’t come my way haha
Great video buddy! That is some collection you have there, I love anything that has a motor on it.
Cheers bud, it’s coming along. So many other videos we’ve had to do so looking forward to getting back to this one 👍🏼
Great work👍
Thanks ✌️ What's your current project?
Good one James - going to be fun to follow this resto.
Thanks Claus, sold a nice Klippo today, check out our Instagram over the next few days. I know your a fan! 🤩
Brilliant this. Rare I’ve got the patience for a 22 min RUclips video but this was well done!
Cheers, we appreciate it 👍🏼
Great job James would like to see it cut wood that would be great 👏👏
Thanks mate, oh we will be cutting some timber with it 💪🏼
Hey ! Today I think i got one of those ! Bet you video will be helpful ! :-) They do not have on off switch ? Thx for sharing ! Now I know...87 cc ! Wow ! :-). I am in Norway and Sweden...would like a bar and chain and bar cover ! Anyone ? He he
Awesome! Good luck! Yes the on/off switch is on the flywheel cover just above where the spark plug goes 👍🏼
@@MachineryNation Found it ! Thx ! :-). It is stuck though...but there is spark...so it is not in off position. Just got it in he he and will inspect, test and so on...and GET IT GOING ! :-)
Cool project buddy 👍
Thank you 💪🏼
Great video mate..
Cheers buddy ole pal 🤟🏽
Nice saws hope to see them run mate I know you can do it
Thank you Henry, fingers crossed 🤩
Do I want to cut the chain off* proceeds to cut the chain off
Good stuff jimbob, only negative is ya need some Makita power tools!!😁😁
Hahaha, need the real deal with these old saws 😜
Nice job on the video very entertaining but you should let us hear the saw running instead of putting music on that’s aggravating.
Yeah our bad. Full restoration vid coming soon!
Meu amigo no próximo vídeo que vc vai cortar as madeiras com a motosserra Stihl 08S vc pode gravar um vídeo pra que eu quero assistir.
Hey, we won't be doing this in the next video but we will do it in the future! Thanks for watching!
nothing like an old engine firing up........a little dicking around, and bingo!
not aluminum, magnesium. Handle bars are full wrap and half wrap, some use 3/4 wrap.
5 minutes in ... I'm out. Why the music??
