  • Breastfeeding can happen in many different positions. If you're looking for a different way to hold your baby to get a nice deep latch, the koala hold may be a good choice for you.

My maternal health nurse here in Australia suggested this hold after I told her my baby had started fussing during feeding. He has been pulling off, getting his hands in the way, becoming agitated and I wasn't sure what to do. Going to give this hold a go :)

Lol My baby is 1 year old and she likes to stand sometimes doing the koala position. She's a funny kid lol. I'm size M cup size too so I still have to hold my breast. I wish there were Videos for bigger chested women. My little one has nose congestion and this position helps her the best while nursing. I suction her nose before n during nursing though.

I tried this, however my 15 week old doesn't lift her chin, so she just sticks her face into my breast and her nose is blocked. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can make this work with a newly-fussy eater in basically every positiond due to my fast let down.

I’ve had an over supply. You can lean backwards while feeding so the milk doesn’t flow too fast… Also, if nothing else helps, you might want to pump or hand express JUST A BIT before nursing so the breasts aren’t as full.

Hi, how do you position a baby that is longer/taller? When I sit her on my knee, her mouth is higher than my nipple... Thank you!

You can lean back slightly and you'll find the right spot ❤️

Will it be okay for a three month old baby? Since her head is not stable yet, won't this sitting position strain her backbone?

This position can be used from day 1. The baby is supported by your arm and body ❤️
