- Check out the new Agni fighting knife designed for the Pencak Silat practitioner or serious knife enthusiast! In this video I sat down with the Daniel Prasetya and the others behind the new Agni fighting knife! This video delves into how and why the Agni is designed the way it is, the theory behind the use of the Agni, and how the Agni knife is built by Dagr & Nott!

Built in bottle opener. Major survival use. 👍
There were a number of jokes about that during the interview.
I'm really having trouble understanding grips 1 through 3.
Will there be popcorn at the premier?
Only if you make it yourself Mikey.
Interesting blade!
I thought so as well!
Thats a beautiful knife
It is a very interesting design.
Cool knife, but in terms of military use, knife combat is minimal. Knives are mostly tools and obviously last resort in hand to hand combat, which doesn't happen much. Even for special forces, suppressed weapons are the go to and going all splinter cell with a knife is unlikely.
Knives definitely do take a back seat in todays warfare, but they still pop up on occasion. I know of a number of knifemakers who had their blades used in Iraq and Afghanistan. For the most part its better of to have a knife than not, even if all you end up using it for is opening MREs. An interesting thing that I did not include in this video (there was about 1.5 hours of interview I condensed down) is that Daniel was teaching special forces knife combatives when this blade was first conceived, and is partially based in that experience.
Almost every infantryman and SpecOps warrior carries a knife though.
Basic infantryman at lower ranks don't have access to a sidearm. At least while I was in the the Army, if my primary weapon went down/malfunctioned, the only backup I had was a knife. Knowing how to use it is completely up to the individual soldier, as knife combat is not something that is taught in the Army, therefore there is no specialized training outside of possible special operations giving a class or seminar.
I think It's based on sundanese tribe art, sunda and java is arch enemy in middle age especially bubat incident javanese favorite blade Kris while sundanese blade called kujang completely different types

Wow that's one ugly knife 😄
How about doing a video on the Fairbairn Sykes (3rd pattern is my favourite)😉
Not much to say about it I guess. Its good for stabbing...😬
Its on the to-do list. I keep getting outbid at auction on those so far. There's more of a story there than you think actually.
@@TheKnifeLifeChannel Ah pity its difficult for you to get one. There are quite a few replicas available here in the UK.
Yeah, I was joking about the story. Its quite interesting.
That’s a lot of words for a very ugly knife… 😅
Wow man! What an awesome video! Better and better every time. I hope the next time I see you, you have an Agni that I can fondle. Maybe SD?
I currently do not have an Agni, but the link is in the description if you decide you need one... Just let me know if you do get one!
Looks like the kukri
It does a bit, doesn't it?
