I'm considering work study- but I can only earn up to a certain amount, so I was wondering if there are any better jobs off campus I should look into? I have a car and can drive off campus.

definitely feel i was meant to see this video. pepperdine has been my dream school since my eighth grade year. i am a sophomore and i know it doesn’t seem like a long time but i’ve been in love with pepperdine and i’ve always said it seems like the school just for me. i am putting it into the universe and i’m praying i get into this school! the one question i have is how do u get information on different sororities? is it your freshman year on campus that you learn about the sororities? when does it all happen and exactly how?
at the beginning of freshman year they have orientation (I think at the end of September) and then there is a night before rush starts where you can meet all the different sororities to get information on them!
Pepperdine is my dream college... definitely. Me and my bff want to go there, my uncle lives through the canyon ( he also teaches at a film school ) my favorite places to eat are in California, THE BEACHES... the only thing I’m concerned about is driving on PCH. My uncle suggested that I get a fiat when I go to college so I most likely will have a car in college... I’m just nervous about driving on PCH

Pepperdine is my dream school, my dad is a big fan and my mom wants me to go to Biola, but I would cry buckets if I get into Pepperdine
Would you say it’s hard to make friends as a junior? I don’t know anyone in the La area and with the classroom sizes being so small it makes me a little nervous lol. I’m social person so I know I’d make friends outside of school but I’m curious how my social experience would be on campus if everyone else already has their friend groups through dorms/travel programs/sororities 🤷🏻♀️

i don't think anybody goes during junior year itself but definitely during the summer!

I’m thinking of going to Pepperdine but I’ve heard it’s super expensive, how much did you guys get off about in scholarships? Also what did you guys major in?
It is really expensive!! But academic/sports/activities scholarships can cover a lot of tuition if you qualify! Also they offer grants based on need! Steph was a regents scholar and I got about 20k in scholarships!
What about work life and working hours and does the college give you money

normally Pepperdine chooses your first semester schedule, but most people get wednesdays off!

also i have one more question haha. on getting into pepperdine! i live in Las Vegas Nevada. my highschool has high graduation rates. my sport that i do is i’m a cheerleader. freshman year i made varsity, sophomore year i joined my speech and debate team. i loved it yet decided to follow my passion (because i have been a competitive cheerleader since i was 5yrs old) and now going into junior year i’m going to be a cheerleader again on varsity competition.
How did the one who got a scholarship for debate do it? I loved debate and miss it but would it even be an option for me being that I only did it one year? Or did u only do debate through being at pepperdine? Any clarifications would be greatly appreciated!! i know pepperdine is crazy expensive lol
I joined debate my junior year and was part of it for a semester before I applied for a scholarship for my senior year! I was able to get a great scholarship without any experience really! the scholarships they give are based on how much you put into the team and help out (not on how well you debate or how much you know). I would recommend if you do come to Pepperdine you should go to some debate meetings and get involved and then apply for a scholarship for your second semester freshman year!

If you are not Christian or religious, do you think that Pepperdine would still be a good school?

Yvonne Li I did not attend Pepperdine but I did have a conference with one of their journalism professors. They were showing us special editions about the Pepperdine student newspaper. But anyhow they did address the fact that yes the school is very Christian, as addressed by Steph and Matilda they are the obviously a dry campus and they require their students to attend church, it is even in their rules that students shouldn’t have sex before marriage. Of course you that doesn’t mean students abide by the rules.
So I personally would say if you are really not for the Christian community then Pepperdine is probably not the school for you since it is such a Christian campus.
To end a Pepperdine student has even written an article titled “help I didn’t realize this school was so religious” so I would probably recommend reading that and then making some of your own conclusions. Aside from that Pepperdine is a great school in terms of education.
I think it would still be a good school! But you’d have to be open to Christianity/religious talks cause there is a lot of it! That doesn’t mean you have to practice it but you will be surrounded by it for sure! There are also ppl of different religions who go to pepp but they are a minority

Is it difficult to enter pepperdine as a transer student?
No we have a lot of friends who did that! It can be hard to transfer credits though just because pepperdine requires unique courses that you can only take there (so you might have to retake similar classes once you get to pepperdine)
What did you guys major in??

If I go to college imma probably go to southeastern just the basic college around me lmao but I’ve alwaysed wanted to go to NYU but you know that’s expensive lmao
NYU would be super cool but you’re right it’s crazy expensive! I’m sure wherever you go will be great though ❤️

Pepperdine sounds like a rich kid snob private college
Sebastian Moya yeah I got in but the total cost is $77,000 apparently, like per year! They haven’t given me a scholarship so far and I can afford a little over half the tuition but a $20,000 or more scholarship would help a ton. They can’t really expect me to pay the whole amount for 4 years can they?
