That stop sign though! Haha. I dig these cars more than some of their competition - probably because around here they are a dime a dozen. There's a E-Class, A6, or 5-series at every intersection. They all blend in.
I've always liked Jaguars and almost bought a 2008 XJR which was nice but because of the known issues Jaguar cars have, I decided not to purchase it. I do love the shape of the older Jaguars and yes the British racing green is my favorite color!! Awesome video Nick!! Looking forward to the next one!
Very nice review Nick! Thanks a lot for the detailed review. I just love this 2012-15 Jag XF Model. Been driving a 2012 2.2D model for the last 3 years and now am thinking of switching over to a (used) 2015 3.0 SC AWD model. This review really helps! Best regards. - Surojit
I loved the comparisons you did with the other four competitors, gave me a great view at what a bargain this is. A great informative review, as always thank you Nick
Nice review. I have the 2.2 in the UK and the speed limiter is set to 140 mph. Also you can change the gears with the paddles in normal drive mode. So maybe these two things are specified differently for the USA
Nice review. I've always loved the way the XF looks from the outside, and actually contemplated replacing my Legacy GT with one recently, but that interior doesn't really sit well with me. I had no idea they came in AWD.
Hey Nick, Love your reviews, have been watching your videos since you started having problems with your 911. One suggestion though: Could you also give fuel economy in L/100km next to the mpg in the future? Noticed that you give us Europeans kgs, kW and Nm, so L/100km would also be welcomed warmly! :-)
Not a bad car, very good looking though I think the interior could use some updating and design changes. The dark stripes in the brown seats look horrid in my opinion. Personally I think there is too much going on in the interior with the wood, metal and leather. They can go together well but I think the colour combination with the tan leather, dark word and bright aluminum doesn't work well at all. The little quirks with the air vents and shifter nob and swiping map lights are awesome, they help make this a luxury car. It's the little details like that sets it above other cars. The exterior though looks fantastic, always love Jaguar styling!
My dad has not long bought one of these (but a diesel :( ) and I think the build quality is great from what I've seen... I'd almost say on a par with his previous Merc. However, I find the indicator stalks and the external door handles a bit nasty. It's weird they'd let little things like that slip when the rest is so good.
I see that you used a polarisation filter Nick hahah! The first shot of the car is absolutely perfect now. De wind screen and paint is spot on. I can't waiting seeing the rest of the video. Cheers, Seger
Nice review. I am thinking of purchasing a car in this class and this review was helpful, although I think the new 2016 XF just came out or is due out soon.
What do you think method of operation for the gear selector? Seems weird to me (like can you confidently operate without looking and know that you're in D and not N or R?).
In the US and I think Canada and Australia, the XF is speed limited to 120mph. For a few hundred bucks, you can get an aftermarket tune, or Hyper-chip, and the 3.0T tops out around 165mph.
Nick Murray That's terrible, here in Ireland you only get that kind of car if you're very very well off, rare to see any more expensive cars than that here, your boss should bring the car back to the dealership for that. Great review as always Nick! I actually liked the colour combination on the interior :)
Per usual, great review! To the point, great camerawork, consistent uploads, and nice array of cars. Personally dig the Jag because they are different, and who doesn't love/hate Brittish cars!? I'd probably take the Bimmer doe, except I'd cry every time I saw an M5 :-/ PS - when's the next 'copter tutorial coming? Loved that vid - though I imagine quite a bit more costly to produce :)
So the helicopter videos. I filmed two more about 6 weeks ago, much higher guilty than the last one and I put a lot of time, effort and money into it. Turns out the link to the intercom between the helicopters and my recorder failed so I could not use the videos. The weather has been so bad I have been waiting for it to improve and do the rerecord. Hopefully this week!!
@nickmurray sorry to hear about the issues with the heli vids! I think I speak for the majority of us, we loved the last one! Also, working on talking my pops into letting you drive his bone stock, mint Suzuka Blue AP2 S2k with only 30k on the clock and matching blue interior. He's in SC but supposedly making a trip to Greenwich and onto Maine this summer. PS. Accidentally just reported your comment 😔. Take care - full review of the new camera coming soon!?
Great review Nick. Your reviews as always are fair and unbiaised. 2 things I'd like to note however. The first one is that you CAN change gears via the paddles in Drive. It's a feature that must be activated via the infotainment screen. The second one is that the car will definitely go over 119 mph, often the Active Speed Limiter comes that way from factory but any JLR technical can disable that from the factory.
Nick Murray Speaking of S Class, on the video you mentioned the XF replaced the S class, and it replaced the S-Type... Just a heads up before you get mangled by people. :D
Nick, how did you like the Jaaaaaaggggggg? That interior has too much brown for my taste but it does have one of the best looking exteriors for cars in this midsize luxury segment. It's time for an F-type review now
The one of you and Tui is perfect but if you want to bring in the gorillas be my guest ! Thanks for listening to your viewers by the way i don't think anybody ever done that for a viewer lol.
Two quick questions: 1. Why is the interior so outdated on this 2015 model. You would think that it would have some more "shine" and such to add to the appeal of a car that is already quite expensive. 2. Curious as to why Jaguar made indicators optional on the 2015 model when all the others came standard?
Nick I know you typically do higher end cars and don't exactly get to pick whatever car you can review, but just please promise me if you ever get the chance to review the 2015 Hyundai Genesis (sedan or coupe) you will take it!
Except that depreciation will hit really hard with Jags, you'll still be able to resell an Audi/BMW/Mercedes for a reasonable price in few years. But definitely a good car if you're 50+.
I like the inside but it looks quite old compared to the new XE or even the XJ! Has aged very well though. Had a ride in the XF-RS a few months back and it hauls ass!
I wouldn't be too happy with that rippling in the leather at 15:50. But apart from that it's amazing, especially considering the model is coming up on 8yrs old
"Aluminium"! In a Jag, of course. :) Great review! I like it, but of the others in the class, I'd take an A6 with the 3.0T. I've had one of those as a loaner over a weekend - they are a blast to drive and pretty luxurious as well.
Nice and entertaining review, as usual. Good looking car on the outside (love the color). Looks a little dated on the inside though. Those Jag/Range Rover infotainment systems are really sllloooowww... The user interface looks more 2005 than 2015. They have definitely some catching up to do with the upcoming model. Overall it's a nice car, but for a similar pricetag, I would definitely go for the A6.
I enjoyed your review. Love the outside of the car but, the interior... those air conditioning vents seem like they could be an issue in the future. Plus the swiping overhead interior lights; I'd be too scared to use them incase they broke. Can imagine Ed China from Wheeler Dealers working on one of these in a future episode lol

I'm thinking (and I know this is the case in my XDrive BMW) that the top speed is 119MPH because of the AWD system. I've heard some horror stories of some people taking their AWD sports cars past what they can do and breaking the AWD systems. So perhaps the RWD version can go faster. Again, this is just my opinion.

Smokin with Chris Jaguar tends to be towards the top of reliability/satisfaction surveys these days.
Thanks so much for your reviews. The quality of the footage and detail is matched nowhere else, please keep these reviews coming!!

Awesome review. The intro music makes me feel like I'm about to select a new game in a classic JRPG back in the day for super nintendo.....advanced.
Perfect I was aiming for the SN vibe.
What's with the Neopost sticker in the centre console? Just asking because I work for Neopost UK. Excellent video as always Nick.

And you can enable using the flappy pedals in D and S in the settings of the car.
yes thanks for the pointer : ) Much better
Nice review. I am thinking of purchasing a car in this class and this review was helpful, although I think the new 2016 XF just came out or is due out soon.
Hello Nick. I got another stupid question which has nothing to do with the car. What's the name of background music playing at the beginning?
Finally someone can pronounce the word jaguar properly!
Thanks Nick! I've always wondered, what is your job?
I have also wanted to know that as well.
I'm sure you could flash the ECU to get past the limiter. Maybe its just limited unless you get a higher trim level or a package.
What do you think method of operation for the gear selector? Seems weird to me (like can you confidently operate without looking and know that you're in D and not N or R?).
I would like to see you do a review a Cadillac CTS or ATS or both with sport package.
In the US and I think Canada and Australia, the XF is speed limited to 120mph.
For a few hundred bucks, you can get an aftermarket tune, or Hyper-chip, and the 3.0T tops out around 165mph.
Hows the interior road/cabin noise on the highway vs and Audi A6?
Whats up with the fit of the silver panel beside the centre right air vent? Looks like they are not in line with each other :/
Yes there is a few off bits like that, not sure about some of the build quality
Nick Murray That's terrible, here in Ireland you only get that kind of car if you're very very well off, rare to see any more expensive cars than that here, your boss should bring the car back to the dealership for that. Except that depreciation will hit really hard with Jags, you'll still be able to resell an Audi/BMW/Mercedes for a reasonable price in few years. But definitely a good car if you're 50+.
I bought one when I was 45 😊, but kept the 6 Series coupe (E63) as well. Both are awesome ...
AWESOME review, as always, and really sweet car! Greetings from Switzerland ;)
I love this car, planing to change for xj.
Nick, your vids are too short, make them longer! :)

Could you please please review a jaguar f type.. any version, such an amazing sound.
The irony in driving a more expensive car than your boss...haha
Nice review and voice like jaguar style
Thank you, appreciate your review 💯
Nice and entertaining review, as usual.
Good looking car on the outside (love the color). Looks a little dated on the inside though.

Thanks Suzy, an A6 wagon no less I am sure. What is the ETA on the Macan and the M4?
Nick Murray
ETA on M4 is early april, Macan mid-june
I enjoyed your review. Love the outside of the car but, the interior... those air conditioning vents seem like they could be an issue in the future. Nick, great video! Why do you have a nicer car than your boss?
Dear Nick..
we enjoy with your all video .. But if you make it shortly i think that's Better.
Keep up my friend 👍👍
Ayman Dots When I make it short people complain that I did not give enough detail, when I make it long people complain that it is too long : ) So I make it long and people can skip if they like : )
Nick Murray i got it 👍😂
But i suggest if you make it around 10 to 15 minutes that's will be great.
Thanks bro ;)
The Spanish El Jefe Toyota Commercial on your video is quite entertaining in terms of 'WTF!?!!?" Oh and Nick, if you have a 'British Racing Green' you need to be able to go above 100 MPH :)
Please put the F10 5 Series on your list, much aprecciated
Good one! Thx for the video and the efforts.
Rake of the seat! That's very British :)
How about long bonnet ? Never heard of it in the US
How long will it take until Suzanne comments? My guess is it won't be long now.
Don't mess with Suzy :)
Daniels30 If I'd known that you were expectantly waiting for it, I would've commented sooner! ;-)
Great review, like always. Straight up, I just thought that your boss wont be happy about he Jag after knowing they are having new model in next year.
Or he just doesnt care
yes I am not sure he knew that...
Nick Murray Nah he probably makes tons of money a year. He can buy the new model when its out.
definitely a bit dated but i like that supercharged v6. curious to see how it compares to audi's SC v6. also that awkward moment when the employee's car is nicer than the boss' car
190mph speedo is ambitious! :P Great video btw
aaaaaaand you just mentioned that haha
love to price comparison to the competition.
How's jag reliability?
What is the blinking display in the dash
A Brit in a Jag. How bloody mah-velous. Cheerio..pip-pip...and all that. Now excuse whilst I binge watch "Downton Abbey", while sipping my cup of Earl Grey tea (pinky extended of course).

Sausage New Zealanders are just watered down Aussies.....lol. Imagine Crocodile Dundee with less attitude.
I'm thinking (and I know this is the case in my XDrive BMW) that the top speed is 119MPH because of the AWD system. Your M4 is more expensive than your boss's XF, right? How?...
Well maybe they have different priorities. Nick may have put more money towards cars than his boss.
U dont say...
He said the XF was one of boss' cars.
Strange it's restricted to 120mph. Here in England it's a 155mph car.
Elegancy and harmony!
Does your boss have many cars, or do you have many bosses, like a video game?
i love the 60 fps so much.
F type anytime soon nick????
Working on it buddy

For this type of car, I'd rather have a Lexus and save some money.
I would use all of my money and get a fully loaded 550i xDrive
You're fired!
The most, I'll pay for that car is $30,000.
hahahahaahahaha
NC Styles : just bought a 2015 XF AWD with 26,000 miles on the odometer from a Jaguar dealership for under $30,000.

Nick Murray Haha, I'd love to see that btw, have you driven the F-type yet?
