Atrocious riding. At the start, filtering down the outside, only to cut up the front car to turn left. Could easily get knocked off. Filtering way too fast and squeezing though gaps far too small, putting yourself in dangerour of getting crushed. Filtering is expected on one's riding test and one can fail if it is not done when safe to do so. Filtering should be done at not more than 5mph above the traffic speed. If the traffic is stationary, this means travel at 5mph. I wonder if this is how this guy rode for his riding test. I assume not. The whole point of a riding/driving test is to show one knows how to drive safely. One is then expected to ride/drive in the same manor. Why do so many people, as in this example, not understand this?
I agree it was a bad move at the start, but I'd just followed that car up the road to that junction and they were proper dithering... so yeah I made a bad move there and I agree. The rest is fine riding. never heard of a 5 mph limit on filtering, you simply have to pass each vehicle as a separate entity and who says I wasn't?
@@wibbley1 you’re wrong about the 5mph limit on filtering. Actually, there isn’t a limit in the Highway Code in the UK. It is advised though that 15-20 mph is the speed that should be observed for safety reasons.
@@Pommo70 Ride like this on your bike test and see what happens. Hope this guy is an organ donor. No way would I risk my legs or life riding like this. Cutting up the the car at the start could have easily resulted in a collision and broken leg. weaving that fast though traffic would not enable one to stop if a car suddenly changed lanes or a door was opened. Filtering down a large vehicle, in this case a bus. Stupidity. Just hold back and be safe.
Hmmm I'm a little torn here - I'm all for filtering in very slow speed traffic, although some of the gaps you went through were tiny and you'd never find me between cars when the lights go green, but weaving in and out while breaking the speed limit isn't a good look.
Absolutely my favourite thing about riding. The amount of time people spend in traffic is ridiculous, I’d like to say that I feel sorry for them as I’m gliding by….but I don’t 😂
@@Pommo70 Even the OP admits cutting across the car was not great. Not everyone undertakes. I don't. Filtering was reckless, whilst he got away with it, there was no margin for error, should another vehicle in front do something silly. Being on a bike makes one very vulnerable to both one's own and others mistakes. Why do people take such stupid risks on the road?
Most of it was perfectly legal filtering. 1 or 2 undertakes admittedly. Speed is often used to get away from 'potential' situations. Not always just the biker going4it.
@@george-ev1dq Yes it is. One can actually fail the test if one does not filter when it is safe to do so. I did loads of filtering on my test. However one is expected to filter safely. This guy certainly does not.
