I don't understand why everyone calls him Cliff Richard. It seems to be an urban myth that this is his name. His name is Rift Pilchard.
Wonderful to see Jet and Tony, I was lucky to see them in the middle of the summer of 63 at the height of their somewhat shortlived solo success,this was in Margate a week or so before "Britains bright new disc recording stars appeared" who were of course fantastic,however it was Jet and Tony who blew us away, with the best memories still as clear to this day,nearly 60 years later.
I love Cliff n the Shadows this was the group that set the world ablaze with their kind of music

Never knew this version that I have heard so many times was from Cliff Richard, whom I also never knew as a musician until now..... love searching through past music which was all before my time but a treasure trove of fantastic music. I'm exposing as much of my generation as possible to all of this!

Cliff had a very pleasant voice, and his rebirth in 1976 [album I'm nearly famous] delivered a row of high class pop records to which I still listen. My favorite single from the sixties is The Day I Met Marie.
He's 81 now, it's over (like everything will be), but we still have the records.
1st time seeing this clip after following them for more than 60 years. Hank must have coached Cliff for this presentation

1961 I was 5 years old, and I do remember "Apache" coming out on the radio on our local Top 40 AM station. I just did not know at the time who the group was. "Classic"!

All we get now is "in it" "me hate, me hate " me took hr" and me mate did twooo" All this done to control you and lower the standards to the gutter, all achieved by Deep State,
I've been lucky enough to have known a band over the last 12 years or so that played this style. Also rockabilly and swing. A few bands actually. I met them all by accident. If you're ever in Delaware look up Michael Davis and the Bullets. They play around elsewhere too.
Why? You can still listen to any music you choose, new or old. What's heartbreaking about it?

I still have the 1st American Cliff Richard album as well as two Shadows albums released here. Always enjoyed the movies as well.
Cliff has tried several times to crack the US market though he is very well know in Australia, New Zealand and all over Europe..
