It’s hardly for no reason. There is renovation work going on and when you’re renovating old structures it’s more likely to have a fire cause because you’re dealing with very old, usually wooden structures that crumble and powder with age creating perfect condition for tinder, very dilapidated structures you increase the fire risk significantly. What could’ve happened is a small electrical surge in a power tool or simply the sun focusing through glass on some powdered old wood that had been exposed ignited a small cinder which very quickly can engulf the whole structure as it’s so old and dry. These things happen with old buildings, there is a reason why the majority of old buildings that are till standing are mostly stone and the things that go first are the roofs

This just breaks my heart. There’s so much history in these buildings, and to see fire first at Notre Dame, and now here, just makes my heart ache.
